3000gt because of awd and forced induction.

I think it depends on what year vr-4(and drivers), the first couple years they only ran low 14's, but the last few years they were made they ran 13's all day long. Still it would have to be a really good stang driver, and a crappy guy in the VR-4 for the stang to win.

personally i loev what they did to the 99 vr4 they made it asmazing i wish i coudl find one with liek 100k miles so i coudl afford it top speed 170 mph oh and btw the 99 vr4 can keep up with the 03 cobra i saw this proven somewhere where it ran .32 seconds slower but that caould all be the drivers fault its basically a drivers race but i love the way that yr looks

There is about as much chance of running into one of these things as a lambo around here. I think they made about 20 of those things and that was about it. That car was a small fortune back in the early 90's and I bet not many are left.

Great car though. I drove one once. I used to own a 92 Eclipse Turbo. Bought it brand new and got to jump into one of these once. Yup, it is the only non-rice, rice car.

Nice cars, I've always liked how they look, but they are some heavy pigs.

I remember seeing Motor Trend test this car back in 96. With 320hp and about that much torque it ran a 4.8 to 60mph, 13.2 1/4 mile, and would top out about 156. I don't think there would be any way of a GT touching it unless the driver in the VR4 absolutely sucked.

Really! Mine was silver with a black top and car was awesome in the day. I was in my mid to early 20's when I had it. I was in the Navy at the time. I traded it in on a brand new 1994 Montero before I moved to PA.

I could go a month a not see one of these things here in NE PA. In fact, I can not remember the last time I saw one on the road or in a show. The last Stealth or 3000GT I saw was a stripper V-6. Keep in mind that only a small % of these had the huffers on them. Some had the exact same body kits, but lacked the huffers.

The VR-4's also had a pop-off rear spoiler that was pretty cool for 15 years ago.

Now, you guys are gonna laugh at this, but when I as kid in HS, my almost within reach dream car was a Mitsu Starion or Dodge Conquest. Those things were awesome in the day and were the precurser to the 3000GT's and the Eclipse.

I keep telling my wife that I am gonna buy one of these things. You can get clean ones for about 1500 - 2000, but really, really hard to find.

there is a green VR-4 twin turbo here and a 3000 GTO . From a stop I would get the Vr-4, from a roll i would kill him. I dont see a GT getting one from a stop. From a roll its VERY possible. Now that 3000 GTO, i have no idea what he has but he ALOMST beat my @$$ . Strong little bastard. you know anything about them? I dont.

Yea, I love the 3000gt, but to say its the only non rice, rice, come on. You are forgetting the supra, the 300zx, and some other cars from back in the day. I love 3000gt's, and have only ever seen a handful of the vr4's.

Even though the car IS awd, you have to remember that it has forced induction and pushes out full boost in the higher rpm range. If he launches on you, he will hand you your *** on a platter, But flat idle drop with both cars, gt is gonna be all over the vr4.
I dont see any vr4s anywhere but I do see the regular 3000gts a lot.

On another note - MT#1, I was watching MTV and they pimped some guys trailor in some trailorpark in your fairy city of mountaintop, PA.

LOL - That must have been the other Mountaintop. There are two Mountaintops is PA. One in NE PA and the other is down near MD. I assure you there is not one single trailer park in this Mountaintop.

Oops! I just asked around. That trailor you speak of is on Blythburn road a few miles from here. Technically, outside of MT. Top, but close enogh for someone to say "I live in Mt. Top".

when i only had a cold air intake i beat a stock 1991 3000gt vr4 by 3 car lengths from a roll. off the line he killed me. its is one of the best rice cars out there and the newer ones before they stopped making it were sick i would definitely drive one, twin turbo awd AND 4 wheel steering, they shouldnt have discontinued it.
