Default Where did my job go?

So, anyone guess where this is going? The president of the company I work for showed up at my work today from like 300 miles away, to shut my store down. No warning, and no more job. He said times are hard and our store wasn't making the money we needed to say open. This was around 3 pm and said today is our last day. Looks like I got to start hookin again, DAMN!

I worked for The John A. Becker Company out of Dayton Ohio in the Ashland Kentucky branch. I ran the counter and sold electrical supplies. I had been at this job since late 2002. I didn't make a lot of money, but it was a good job that I was good at. I got to deal with whatever walked into the store, and sometimes that wasn't a good thing. That was also kinda cool, because you never knew who could show up.

I am going to get this started, but I hate sitting at home with nothing to do. I have been working since I was like 13-14 and just go stir crazy if I don't do something.

Wow. I relish the idea of sitting at home with nothing to do. I am so ready for retirement. Plenty of stuff to do around my house, Without a deadline or a production quota that needs to be filled. I need to clean the pool, or clean the car, or fill the bird feeders.. plus I need to level up on several video games..

Sorry about the job. I'm with Jack...it's bullshit that couldn't give you some kind of notice to get ready for a pay cut/loss.

Just goes to show you how most companies feel about their employees. They want you to give at least 2 weeks notice if you plan to leave, but they will shove you out of the door at the end of the day, sometimes even before that, I've seen a whole lot of my coworkers shot down for the smallest BS just cause they are getting older and maybe a little slower. Management can fabricate any excuse they want to to let you go at the end of the work day.. And even with the HR resources available to try and prevent that BS, 9 times out of 10, You will loose..

I'm just waiting for them to try shooting at me because I can't work like I'm 25 yrs old anymore.. They usually go after the 50+ crowd..

I'm still kinda young, so I hope finding a new job won't take more than a week or 2. I go to many bills that don't stop, and a family to take care of. That is unless any rich older type ladies out there need a strong young man to "take care" of them. In other words I need a sugar mama.

LOL, Most mens fantasy there. GL with that. Women with that kind of money are way too smart to fall for that. Unlike the rich old man who wants a trophy wife half his age.

Not much demand for a trophy hubby with bills to pay, no matter what size your shlong is. If that were the case I'd have been rich about 25 yrs ago....

"Lose it? I didn't lose it. It's not like, "Whoops! Where'd my job go?" I QUIT. Someone pass me the asparagus."

A line from the character Lester Burnham in the movie American Beauty.

It's all good. I had an interview today that went well, and this job pays a little better. I hope to find something quick so the severance I got can be used on the bills now and not try to stretch it out for a while.
