So im thinking of selling or trading the evo for.........

What makes you lean twoards the slower less attractive car?
Id say alot of girls would like the camaro better, and it has like cool ambient lighting inside. And it has IRS, so it will probably ride better than the mustang.
But thats the only points I see beating the mustang.
All in all you should definetly drive BOTH first.
And what makes you like the Camaro better so far?

as much as i love 99-04 mustangs i cant go back to the interior in them.
and i know this is a mustang forum so i know how one sided its going to be.lol

Just you tube the comparisons. There was one car and driver one I think and the gt was faster, handled better, braked faster, and had better interior than the camero. It one hands down over the camero and srt8 challenger.

Keep the Evo then. I'm stationed in a very small city and I see just as many Camaro's here as I see Mustangs.
#15
i would like if we could discuss the performance of the car and not just hear mustang GT, you guys are such cool aid drinkers, j_gutta is like the only open minded guy to post so far.lol

I think the new camaro will hold its value longer, and is less likely to be one-uped by a newer model. I beleive the Mustang is a better car though, but in 2014, there will be a better one, if not a better GT version in 2012. For that reason, the Mustang will not hold it's value as long, but is still the better car. I would pick the Mustang, because I don't look at cars as any type of investment or consider resale value, although some people do. However, I couldn't buy a brand new vehicle that depreciates 25% as soon as I drive it off the lot, I'd wait and buy used. Motortrend compared the two and the Mustang was king of every category, handling, acceleration, fuel mileage (although MT averaged slightly less than in the Camaro, probably due to the 3:73 gears and they romped that hoe ragged), the Mustang is better in every way, stock. When you start throwing mods in the mix, it could be a toss up. Everyone knows the LS engines are capable, but will the Coyote engine be comparable, I think so but possibly not.

I know evolution performance has the 2011 GT running low 10's N/A.
But I mean, the LS3 is a more classic and simple engine. Its a pushrod engine and thats my favorite part about it.
But I like LS2's better.
The mustang definetly makes more power, but we just have to see how reliable that TiVCT engine is with 300000 valves.
As far as your powertrain, both have 6speeds now. So thats not camaro/cobra exclusive anymore.

I know if I had your car where I lived. I would probably keep it.
I dont know how much your cars worth.
But I think its bad *** that its an all wheel drive rally car. And it would definetly be fun when it comes all these huge snows here. And you could drive in any weather condition and know its made for it.

Keep the Evo, or get a GT.
If you think the 5.0s are going to become populated, then just look at how the Camaros are now. I see them EVERYWHERE.
Meanwhile, there are only three 5.0s in my town. And that's with a Ford dealership that has three on their lot right now....
I know you think we're biased, but trust me I myself would tell you if a certain car is better.
Personally, I think you'll hate going back to muscle. I'd much rather have an Evo than my GT, even if it was completely stock. But, I understand in your position its an upgrade in power and a muscle car like you want.
It all comes down to just test driving them and seeing if it sucks you in. But, just make sure you think about the cost of mods (Camaros are pretty high, as I'm sure the 5.0s will be too) and also the hit of a car payment all the time. As well as insurance...
I'd keep the Evo, build it a bit (GT35R!), and then see maybe later on once you see used 5.0s and Camaros which one you want.

I'm not saying get the GT just because this is a mustang forum. Hell I'm not biased when it comes to cars. I like a little bit from domestics and imports. But if you were comparing the new Camaro to the new Mustang, then yes the mustang wins hands down. I'm not a huge fan of the way the new Camaros look and they aren't all that fast. If you really want a LS engine, then find a 04 Zo6. You can find those for less than 30K easily. I like Evos as well which is why in the next few months I have plans on probably getting one. I'll be keeping the stang as well though.

While I don't love the rear end of the new Mustang at least it doesn't look like it's having an identity crisis and trying to look like a fat-*** overweight Corvette, GM failed hard IMO when they let the designer of the Corvette loose to do the Camaro.

Seriously? Kool-aid drinkers? 1. You're on a Mustang forum, ofcourse most everyone is going to say to get the Mustang. 2. the '11 GT is better in pretty much every aspect than the wannabe Corvette. That inluced looks AND performance. The interior is absolutely amazing in the new Stangs too.

Well then just keep the Evo. /done

First of all, I don't mean to sound like a dick with what I am about to say........But sometimes the logic on this forum is kinda "fucked up"! Like Evan said this is a Mustang forum not a import or GM, most of the time the choices are going to lean toward Ford or Mustangs. Just the way it is. You would'nt go to a Mormon prayer chat room and ask for directions on how to "butt-****" a gerbel would you?
3.8, whatever you decide to buy will be your decision and yours only. I personally will be happy for you as long as you are happy with whatever you purchased. I think the world of all the people on this forum but I would not let anyone on here help me buy a car that I have to make payments on for the 5 years.
Ask yourself these questions about the cars, is it for the speed, is it for the ride, is it for the handling or the looks? First of all, I can gurantee you will never be the fastest. There will always be someone out there just a little faster. All new cars will run fast enough to get you a reckless driving ticket and all the new cars will run fast enough to get you killed. Is it the looks, they make thousands of these cars a years. I have an 02 Dark Mineral Gray, Ford made 29,000 of this car in 02 so its not a rare car,or worth big money. I believe you make your car "rare" in what you do to it how it makes you feels when you drive it. If you you don't have this feeling then its just another "cookie-cutter."
Have you ever thought about doing a 180 and look into buying an older version of a Camaro or Mustang. If you pay 40k for a new car you maybe able to buy a restored car for about the same price.
All I'm trying to say is shop smart and make 3.8 for the win happy not the Mustangboards. Good Luck

Possibly a 08-10 Evo X. I've read mixed reviews on them, but I love the look. I know they are heavier than the previous ones, but I really want a no older than 2 years car. I need a sporty 4 door, so the way I see it, they're aren't too many options.
