Default The verdict is in

Went to court yesterday to take a plea bargain.

Walked out with -

1 day of work release
3 years probation
3 months of T.A.S.K. (drunk driving school)
1 Victim Impact Panel class (Mothers against drunk driving basically)
Suspended license until June 15th.
And the fines associated with it.

$1750 for the DUI charge. $155 for work release $300 for TASK $50 for Victim Impact Panel $125 to get my license back (when I can)

So, the grand total so far: Around 28 thousand including my car. Not to mention the financial damages from losing my job, not being able to get work, because of the DUI and no license, and the sr22 that I'll have to have for 3 years, and the price of a new car.

I got a discount for my attorney because I'm family. So I was only charged 2 grand from him..

Life lesson learned and noted.

Yea. They wanted to give me enhancement charges (for being 2x over the legal limit) which including a mandatory month in jail, and then another month in jail for the accident..

Somehow that was waived.

It is, but, it was much needed. I learned something I should've known a long time ago..

The financial stuff isn't so bad for me, luckily my family has been there to help me out, and I don't have any huge bills.

I just want to do all this stuff and get it out of the way now..

I won't give you a lecture because I know you've heard it all by now. At least you didn't get any jail time and I believe you won't ever do anything that ******* stupid again.

Yup. The judge messed up on my paperwork too, wanted 4 more days outta me, and forgot what he wrote down (my 1 day of work release)

So on the paperwork, it said I had already served 4 days..

Turns out, my one night in jail, was worth four. Who woulda guessed.

Oh and I finished my Victim Impact Panel and mailed it off, and signed up to TASK today..

Talk about interesting..the dude that works there kinda scared the **** outta me..nothing like a big buff dude telling you

"You need to ****** straighten up and get your **** together"

kinda shocks ya..

All the fees that come along with a DUI are horseshit. Its not like the legal system really gives a **** about your punishment, anyway. They really just want your money.
