And glad you see my spectrum of things. I'm a fan of music. I play drums, ocarina, flute, little guitar, bass, bongos, piano, and all that, i love music. And yes before anyone says anything voice is crucial in music.

 

Fan of music and following the drama of american idol are 2 way different things...

Its good to see natural talent out there. And people do their own spinoffs of things.

 

Natural talent, my ***. They cover songs, and whats that mean? They're singing **** that someone with actual talent wrote. and once they "do their own thing" they're still singing songs that some dude/chic is getting paid to write for them.

 

My thing is how is it that every dang time a guy wins that stupid show they are gay! The only good thing that has ever come out of that show is Carrie Underwood. God she is hot!!!

Some of them do actually write their own songs. But either way, I think the good bands are the ones that had to struggle and toured like crazy to get where they are. Good bands started playing at shitty local bars and little clubs. If it's just handed to you, then you truely don't get the full experience.

I only watched the very first season of American Idol when I was in 11th grade, haha. Never watched it again. As some of you could probably figure, I am a fan of Simon. He's quite the brutal bastard and the only thing worth a damn on that show... but not worth enough to make me watch it.

I agree. But what sucks is that there are so many talented, great bands, musicians, and singers out there who are looked over, no matter how hard they work. They have to scrape by to make a living while some tool who sings other people's songs becomes a millionaire. Like one of my favorite singers, Dax Riggs. He's one hell of a songwriter; a poet, even. To me, he has a voice that beckons angels. He is one of music's best kept secrets. It pisses me off that there are ******** who sing other people's songs that are wallowing in money, while he is probably doing well, he deserves more recognition than what he gets. It's almost surreal.

 

I dont watch Idol but I guess to each, their own. I personally enjoy actual bands like As I Lay Dying, All Shall Perish, Emmure, just to name a few. True talent and they write their own ****.

 

Oh yeah, there's definitely tons of bands out there that get shafted. Most of the bands I listen to don't get played on the radio (at least not that I know of since I don't listen). I just come across them on the internet and such. It's a shame that they take some loser thug, apply the little vocalizer to their voice and they produce shitty songs that some people love and make millions. R&B and rap singers have no talent these days. Not a fan of that music anyways, but rappers back in the day actually wrote about crap. Not the same **** over and over about how much money they have and all the bitches they screw. All the R&B artists sound exactly the same and everyone song is the same.
