So anyone getting it tonight??? I'm getting it and pulling an all nighter. It's the main reason I got a ps3 even tho it's on 360. Now just can't wait for gt5.

I might get it within the next month or so but I don't need it right away

either im going with my friend tonight to get it or taking his pre-order, going to gamestop while he is at work and playing it at his house....while he is at work...

i will be texting him play by play details..he will hate me as he is sitting at his desk lol.

lol I just got off work but am going to sleep in a bit to wake up at 10, go to gamestop get my number. Then go back home sleep till 12 then go get my game and pull a all-nighter then go to work at 8. Its great because i live less than 1/4mile from my gamestop.

Ugh, I forgot to reserve it. I'm sure they won't have anymore copies. It's alright, though. I still have Uncharted 2, Demon's Souls, Arkham Asylum, and Dante's Inferno to finish. I never have time to play my PlayStation anymore.

I just got it and its amazing... makes me want to kick my feet alll night!!

My local walmart had tons of copies and tons of nerds waiting since 6 oclock... i was like woww..

Very rarely do stores run out of games these days. They usually stock the crap out of them these days. I never reserved Halo 3 and I walked right in and picked up a copy. Back in the day you had to reserve everything just to get it the day of. I use to work in a cd/dvd/game store and I remember shit would run out all the time.

i really really like this game. i played about 6 hours worth and i must say i was extremely impressed since the last few FF's have been let downs (X-2, XII, partially X). I like how they went back to a modern era like they did in FF 8 (my favorite one of them all). now i just have to buy a PS3 since i played it on my friends and dont really wanna waste another 6 hours. lol:cool:

Everyone always does that... FF7 was pretty amazing,, But FF8 told this amazing love story.. FF9 had a HUGE adventure. FF10 was a love story and an adventure with even more... FF6 had the most evil character ever... FF4 told an amazing story about a black knight turning into a paladin, FF1 is good on iphone/ipod telling the story of the warriors of light...

All of the games are amazing, and although sephiroth is my favorite character in the entire series.. I still dont think FF7 is the best. So far 10 is the best that ive completed... 13s amazing so far,, i'll update when completed in the next few days/weeks.

so this really hot girl I met a few nights ago, happens to be into video games..somehow convinced me to buy it tonight (amazing what looks can do) and we got drunk and played it for like 5 hours. great game. i think

Alright I was a big fan of FF7, so for those of you that have played FF13 thus far..... does it involve the same battle style as FF7? Materia, Summons, stuff like that? I guess I just want to Omnislash Sep's face off in better graphics :)

its nothing like 7,, 8 was diff, 9 was diff,, they all are diff from 7.. materia got dropped out.. and its active time like regularily, except the characters are in motion moving about. its alot easier and harder to play.

I got it, I'm 16 Hours into the game and still have the 3rd disc to go :eek:

I play it on the 360, but its absolutely amazing. best one i have played since 9, first one i have bought since 7.

I like it, greatest RPG franchise ever.

I went and bought it the same day I posted. Had to see for myself. I havnt had much time to play but the first 3 Chapters bored the shit outta me. Its starting to get better now.

First chapters did suck because you was left in the dark,, im on 8 now, and its amazing... very sad too..

the cut scenes are nice, but so far there are NO DECISIONS! It is just, walk the predetermined path, and fight. Then i read THERE ARE NO TOWNS?????

are there any sidequests??? WTF is the point in this?

I know its dissapointing that they made it soo linear, but it helped provide for a better storyline so things didnt conflict.

Like I enjoyed seeing all these random things in the world map on 7 and 8.. Like the scary emerald weapon under the sea moving about, and watching the big garden moving on 8..

I agree they missed alot of things but overall the story is AMAZING! It all starts coming together about 20 hours in.

Chris, i am at about the same point as you. im stuck at 6 hrs because of a lack of PS3 to play (started on friends ps3, and dont wanna waste another 6 hrs on xbox).

i have been playing FF9 and i am about 3 hrs into the game and the story has already developed into something where as FF13 your still figuring out what the hell is going on. lol

i want another FF 6 7 8 9 (even 10) story line where you actually have character development. lol.

(side note, if anyone played 10, the voice actor for Wakka is the same person who voices Bender on futurama and Marcus from Gears of War 1 and 2 lol)

i dunno if im even going to bother to finish it. probably go ahead and trade it in.

its like watching a movie with lousy acting that pauses from time to time to use a retarded fighting system so you can continue with the game.

there is ZERO strategy, ZERO thought, it is like a tunnel you are forced down, i dont mind having a degree of linearity to a game, i don't mind sandboxes either, but this is so far on the extreme side of linearity that it is rediculous.

this game fucking blows.

FF14 is MMO,, im gettin early access beta..

And the game does require alot of strategy after u start developing multiple paradigms. Its more difficult than the rest.

It takes quite a bit of hours and go through a lot of chapters for it to really develope, but as stated before it isn't a old school ff.

now, FF has always been a linear aspect to it. BUT you had tons of other shit. You could go race chickens, play in game games, do tons and tons of sidequests, puzzles, etc, etc.

so far, 6 hours into it, you start at point a, move to the monster at point b, slay the monster, then move to point c, slay the monster repeat repeat.

it is nothing more than a battle system with cutscenes and occasionally just to make it feel like you are doing something you get to move the joystick. 6 hours into the game, that is all that has happened. And WTF, i only control one character?

this game pales in comparison to the other FF games.

i dont see shit for strategy other than learning the paradigm system and changing to fit the needs, and that isnt thast hard to figure out.

you dont control the other characters, it is basically auto attack, auto attack, auto attack, shift paradigm, auto attack auto attack, shift paradigm, summon the fucking horse, then pull some specuil moves.


i liked the old system where you control each character, load up the commands, etc.

i dunno. so far im bored out of my fucking mind with this game.

i honestly dont think i can play another 14 goddamn hours before i get to make a decision for myself. and even then im hearing the game opens up a little, but there aint a whole lot to do before you go back into the ultra-linear choiceless system where you basically move in the only direction available and then attack a monster, and repeat.

this is just dumb.

20 hours before something gets better? are you fucking kidding me? The other FF games i played are straight out fucking awesome from the get go. none of this "waste 20 hours of your life doing the same goddamn thing over and over before things get interesting"

this game is garbage.

FF7 was ownage. Im on Chapter 10 of FF13 and I havnt played it in about 7-8 days. The boss whipped my ass a few times and I really have no desire to move on. Its weak compared to other FF games.

Im digging this thread up to see if you guys are still trying to play this game. I got pissed pretty early into the game and gave it to my friend for him to fuck with. I didnt have the patience to continue with the bullshit.

I ended up buying it around Christmas time for $20 new at GameStop. Right now I have my team chillin in Gran Pulse so I can just pick up and play whenever, go take on some missions every once in a while. Yes, missions, aka SIDE QUESTS, in Gran Pulse, this HUGE NON LINEAR WORLD with all kinds of monsters and places to explore. The game is def not as bad as Jack was making it out to be. The battle system also gets strategic and challenging as shit once youre done fighting the bitch monsters from only 6 hours into the game, I can't even touch the auto-battle command anymore or else i'm dead.

I give it a 9/10
