FML, Phone in toilet.
Yah...
Dammit...
always something new
So i dropped my god damn blackberry curve in the toilet.
im sure it is fried, but i plan to let it sit in rice overnight.
if it doesent work tomorrow am, i have to go get a new phone. I have a razor i can activate to hobble me along if needed.
whats up with the unlocked phones? what do they miss? how do they work?
i really want 3g and wi-fi as well. 3g is great if yer not in a wifi-zone, but wi-fi kicks 3g's ***.
anyone have a blackberry 8900?
this blows.
dammit.

Unlocked phones are the same as a phone you would buy on contract. The only difference is you can take it to whatever carrier you want, granted the phone is either for GSM (AT&T, T-Mobile) or CDMA (Verizon, Sprint). They are usually more expensive cause you aren't getting the 2 year contract deal. This is what they do in like China and such and it's starting to happen over here a bit. Google's phone, the Nexus One, is an unlocked phone, but you can also get a contract discount with it and still have it be unlocked.

Only if they make a CDMA version. Right now it's not. They would have to make a new phone which is supposedly in the works, but I still wouldn't buy one.

it's a DUMB smart phone.

iphones are only "cool" because they were the first real smartphone out there. there ARE better phones on the market, don't be a sheep and just run to the iphone unless all you need are fart noise apps.
#14
the fart noise apps is where its at haha

uhh, blackberrys were out sending/recieving emails, editing doc/xls files, and acting as a pocket PC back in 2002.
the Iphone is no way in hell the first real smartphone, it just has tons of dumb apps and a real bitching touchscreen.
UPDATE:
So the Blackberry Bold stomps the **** out of the blackberry curve. And the blacklberry curve was pretty sweet.
The Bold boasts real 3G, bigger screen, WIFI, much much faster processing, etc.. the only thing that the curve holds over the bold is the modular aspect where you can replace any part off of it for pretty cheap off amazon, screen cover, lcd screen itself, the case, trackball, keyboard, etc, etc.
when using the Curve listening to pandora it would be laggy as all hell but it would work. The Bold can handle streaming music, a phone call, incoming email, and loading a web page all at the same time without bogging down. plus it has a much better software package from the get go.
Anyways, my Curve started working again today. However after having the bold a couple days, im just gonna keep the curve as a backup in case the bold craps out.

it is man. Going from a curve to a bold is like going from a 2004 Mustang GT to a 2011 Mustang GT
lol

hey throw your curve in a ziplock bag of raw white rice for a few days to get the last of the moisture out of it. my wife dropped her phone into her drink one day in the car. phone wouldn't do anything for a few days. put it in a bag of rice for two days took it out. booted right up and has worked ever since

lol, i can do that too. keep trying.

i guess you win this round with useless app #9959034829384723, T-pains autotune funhouse.

My phone has some good apps, a touchscreen just as good as the iPhones, I can run multiple apps at the same and actually flip through them and not have to close one before opening the other. There is no real "best" phone. It's all a matter of opinion, but people who flock to the iPhone can't explain why it's the best phone.
My wife just got an iPod touch that she loves. All she really plays on it is that damn word game. Anyways, she wants an iphone if it comes to Verizon and I asked her why. She had no response.
