i Pad
I dont get it.
too big to fit in your pocket, too stripped down for any level of real functionality as a PC.
What is the point of it other than paying a minimum of $500 so you can websurf fom the couch? which you can already do with a laptop or an ipod touch?
seems like kind of a dumb device. it is just a big ipod touch that is too big to fit in your pocket.
anyone planning to get one?

My girfriend has the Kindle which is a device to read books it is not as much as the i-pad thing but she reads books on it and they are cheaper to buy them on the thing she has than to buy the book out right that is the only use I can think of.

I plan on getting a version that has Flash support, a bigger battery, and a non-shitty apple processor that can multitask. Dell is making a kick *** one, well two a smaller portable iTouch killer and a tablet PC.
**** Apple and their marketing. Netbook killer my ***. This thing can't even out perform my Omnia phone.

I agree with everyone. My friend was telling me about how awesome he thinks it looks. I told him the exact same things Jack had to say about it. I'll just stick with my iPod. It's WAY more portable, and can do just about everything this iPad can do, except 3G. Jailbreaking FTW.

It's a neat device, but that's it. I can't see the use or functionality of it either. I could never use it for school, I wouldn't want to use it at home. I have an Ipod Touch and it's pretty cool, makes me want an Iphone. My girlfriend as a Kindle also and she loves it and I see the point in it. She can buy books on it for cheaper than at a book store, she doesn't have to carry around a book, and when she is done with them they don't stay on the coffee table for months. But the Ipad, that's just dumb. If you compromise on too many things, or try to please too wide of a customer base, you end up not doing anything well and not making anybody happy. The worst part is the Apple brand loyalist who with tread the Ipad with the reverance that of God.

Like I just posted on the BMC, that thing looks cartoonish. Utterly ridiculous.
I'm not addicted to the internet enough to where I need a device that can get on the internet wherever I am. If I want to play games while I'm out, I'll play my Nintendo DS or my iPod. If I want to listen to music, I'll use my iPod or my phone. If I want to read books, I'll read an actual book.
Plus, that $800+ price tag is ******* rape. I could buy cams with that.
Edit: I just want to ******* stomp the throat of the guy in the pictures above. God, what a douche. His hair is atrocious. I hope he gets scalped by a psychotic indian.

Looks like Apple took a big flop on this one. Almost as bad as when they were going to release the iPod Touch the first time, when all you could do is use your fingers to scroll through the menu, no apps or anything else.
I have to say that even if it could do more than just eBooks and other junk, I still don't think I would buy it. Its exactly like the iPod touch in the sense that its only able to run one application at a time. AND you still have to do everything through the over expensive iTunes Store until someone develops a jailbreak for it, which is not a good idea in case the thing takes a **** on you and you have to get it fixed.

It's a complete waste of money. Hey I'm Apple, I keep making the same product, but this time its jumbo size. How can you have a tablet this size where you can go online, but yet you won't add Flash? Oh and why put on this big event to announce something when anyone who gives two ***** about Apple already knew it was coming a long time ago? Just a waste.

That's exactly what I was thinking. I also love my iphone, but I can't figure out the target market for the ipad.
