Default My quest for a 12 second timeslip continues...

So........

Here's where I stand right now....

13.34 with a soft 1.9 60ft time before the 4.10 gears.

Here's what's going on this week:

After doing some research, I've found that most people cut .2 off of their 60ft times by switching from the 135% setting to the 85% setting on their Megabites. I've been having a lot of problems with unloading right before the 60ft mark, and spinning the tires, and from the research I've done, it seems that I really shouldn't be running the 135% setting on my car. So that will be one problem solved. I just have to swap them up one hole, and readjust the pinion angle.

I'm also going to finish welding up my torque boxes while I'm under there. Don't want to rip those open again.

I'm going to Holcomb on Friday to pick up a set of Strange 10 way adjustable shocks and struts. I figure the best way to get my car into the 12's is to improve my 60ft time, since it's pretty weak right now. These should help with the unloading issue also.

I'm also having my full length subframe connectors welded in to replace the wimpy factory bolt-on ones that came with the Bullitt. Won't account for much on the track, but I'll have some peace of mind. I also noticed that my K-Member is a little crooked in the car, and needs to be straightened up, so I'll take care of that, put my bumpsteer kit in, and get it realigned sometime this week.

I'm also ordering a set of M&H Drag Radials to replace my BFG's. I'm sure that will give me a little bit, since the BFGs were completely worn to nothing the last time at the track.

So, to sum it up: 13.34 last time out. Adding 4.10's, adjusting traction bars, better drag radials, adjustable shocks and struts, and head out to give it another try.

I wanted a 12 second slip and once I got one, my modding/drag racing addiction ended. Hopefully you dont feel the same way. :-/
