well after hearing some weird noises from my rear end, i took it into the shop, turned out to be a fragged axle bearing which chewed up my other bearings and pinion seal, spewing diff fluid all over my undercarriage. it was costing me $980 to fix, so i thought hell, as long as the rear is cracked open lets regear her. so i slipped in some 3.73s for an extra $300. long story short, i have a new rebuilt rear end and 3.73s to boot! and the gears are sick! my car is a rocket! i would recommend regearing to anyone for the first mod! and damn can you tell the difference.

Well after some reading, I'll go with new FRPP 3.73 for my first mod.

i like my 3.73s a ton! i just recalibrated the speedo today so yay! i am getting 18 mpg too so not bad....i think 3.73's is just right for me nothing too wild but not too mild....i think either gear is a great choice....but think about this, my 2.73 to 3.73 jump in gears effectively reduced all my gears by 33% so 5th acts like 4th and so on. just something to think about, anyways, love the gears would definetely recommend for any beginner...
they helped me beat a 350Z last night, and dont say it cant be done cause i did it
