I see no point to that thing, I mean it's a glorified golf cart with a small gas motor to propel it. 41mpg isn't even that great for something that strains to get above 65 even on flat ground. Most hybrids are safer and get as good or better milage than that piece of crap.

Small car, easy to park, gets great gas mileage, and does just fine on the highway. There's no logical reason for it to go above 65, because there's no place that you are legally able to go higher than that (except maybe out west.) As far as hybrids getting excellent gas mileage, most of them are overrated. Especially the Prius.. That thing does pretty good in stop-and-go traffic where it can regenerate some of its lost energy, but it pretty much sucks everywhere else. Top Gear raced one around a track versus a BMW M3, and the M3 achieved a better MPG rating. It all depends on how you drive them. There's really no point in buying a hybrid. I don't even know why they make them. If you want to decrease your carbon footprint, just drive less/ride your bike more, or make use of public transportation. I probably use less gas in my inefficient V8 Audi in one week than most hybrid owners do, simply because I only drive an average of 15-20 miles a week.

Most highways I drive are 75.

Interesting.. Every highway/interstate that I've driven on (at least in the midwest) had a max speed of 55mph, with a minimum speed of 45mph.

A pharmacy down the street from my work uses one of these Smart cars as a delevery car. It is way too small to be very practical. I have read that are feel very unstable on the interstate, and 41mph for a car that small is not good at all. The Ford Fusion Hybrid is around or better than that, they managed 1500 miles out of one tank, plus it's actually good looking. I wouldn't even want to ride in a Smart car, damned things look like there on the verge of tipping over constantly.

I work at Lowes and there is a guy that comes in there all the time and buys wood and straps it to the top of one of those damn things. One time he actually asked me if it was safe to tie a grill behind the damn thing and tow it home...

Those things scare me. They look little golf carts. Especially going down i95! It looks like it could change lanes under a semi!

No way.
