Default My First Haircut!

Yes, you read that right. My hair is 28" long and I've been growing it since I was pretty much a baby, haha. I've only had it trimmed an inch or so every month. Basically, I've only had the ends cut off.

With that being said, I'm going for my very first actual haircut next Thursday at 4.30pm! I'm only letting her cut off about 4-5" because anything more is just too much right now and I may burst into tears in the chair just from that. I'm taking baby steps. I guess I'm attached to my hair and rightfully so. I spend a lot of time on it and it is my security blanket.

I want to keep it long because I love it being long. I plan on getting long layers put in it, kind of like Demi Moore's hair. I don't want anything too drastic because it might put me (or the hairdresser) in a coma.

This is what I'd like, but longer and with bangs.

Anyway, I know you guys don't care about this because you're men, but I had to post because I am both nervous and excited. But I know I will be okay as long as she doesn't take too much off... or she might end up with scissors in her eyes!

Well Demi Moore is hot, so it should look good. That's some long *** hair you have though. Just remember, it does grow back. Good luck

I can predict with complete certainty that you won't be happy with your haircut. Your a woman, and women are never happy with haircuts, it's no one's fault. LoL.

Yeah, it is long and it gets in the way sometimes. I'm hoping the extra few inches removed will help a little. I also just wanted something different. And thanks for the good luck.

May you rot in hell for that comment.

Seriously, though, she does the hair of some of my friends and she does a great job. I wouldn't trust just anyone with my precious, precious hair.

And like 00blkstanggt said, it will grow back. And it grows fast, too.

I'm excited to see the pics of how it looks! Sunshine, you'll be fine! I'll go ahead and bet that you'll actually like it and that it'll motivate you to go for the finished look.

Ha, yeah I've seen it all before, a highly recommended and trusted hair stylist will somehow butcher YOUR hair. However, I really hope your hair looks great, I'd hate to be the one to deal with that **** storm of wrath.

Thank you. I hope it looks great, too. That's why I'm not getting too much taken off of it at once. That way if I don't like it, I'll only have like 4 or so inches to grow back, which won't even take 6 months.

I'm not a girl that has ever really put that much emphasis on my hair, it's always been more of a fun accessory. It's been about every color and length, to include platinum blonde and crew cut. I've always had the frame of mind is that no one part of my body will define me and it will grow back.

Don't worry, Val! I'm sure it will look good.

I'm more worried about the hair stylist just in case she ***** up. You'll be fine.

Nice. If you were cutting off more, I'd say you should donate the clippings. I think there's a minimum length though. Anyways, make sure you post some pics

LOL!! Never sported the rat tail and I can't find a pic of my crew cut, I got it originally when we came down to be deployed to desert storm and I have extremely thick hair and I was wearing a flight helmet for many hours at a time soooooo....the crew cut!! I loved it so much I kept it for while but I kept getting hit on by women.

Here's of pic of rocking 80's mullet.

My wife donated 8 inches to Locks of Love. They use the hair you donate to kids who have long term medical hair loss.

Back when I had long hair....I went to get it cut and the lady totally made it look AWFUL, so I had her cut the rest off. That was after I had been growing it out for like a year, too. So it was pretty long. I was incredibly pissed off. Had to start growing it all over again, and I never trusted another stupid bitch with my hair ever again....And then I realized how unattractive I was with long hair, and cut it all back off again. Point being.

You'll probably never be satisfied due to the sentimental attatchment that you have with your hair.

Valerie, you have always been my "hero" on this forum, now to find out that you're a "Wuss". My world is shattered

Hair is very important to a woman even though its a renewable resource (for some people) it will be a drastic change at first but you will be fine. The stylist may not be but you will be. Good Luck !!!!!!

Nope. That's too big of a step for me. You have to have at least 10" to donate and I'm not doing any more than 5".

No, I don't ever plan on having hair that's any shorter than the bottom of my ribcage.
