I hate Cell Phone Carriers

so today i went to go get a new battery for my phone today only to find out that they no longer make accessories for my phone and do not have any batteries instock nor do any 3rd party manufacturers have any batteries either.

after about an hour of looking for a battery they decided to let me upgrade my phone early (due in august) so i found a nice phone i wanted..the Motorola q 9m was advertised as 79.99. i knew that it wasnt going to be that price. i was expecting it to come out to around 110-120.

So we got it all squared away and then i had to pay for it. when they told me how much it was i was pissed. They were charging me $190 for this stupid phone. i asked what made it so expensive "politely". So here is the breakdown:

79.99 for the phone
20.00 for the early upgrade (a price that they never said i would be charged)
80.00 for not getting a data plan which i dont want or need
xx.xx for any other fees like tax and the sort

i told the sales person no thanks and left. its just amazing how these stupid cell phone companies try to get you for everything you own. $80 charge for not buying a data package. wtf!!??!

now i am still stuck with a cell phone that only holds a charge for roughly 6 hours.

That is ridiculous. Go on Ebay and see if they have one like the new one you want, or even the old one. You might get lucky.

I work in the wireless business so I will break it down for you, so you see that most companies don't really try to suck you dry!

I am a new customer that wants to purchase a moto q 9c from lets say sprint! As a new customer I sign up for a 2yr commitment, I will get it for a real good price of $150 after rebates and such! But while, you get a real good deal, the store is out $300 dollars, because thestore pays $450 to purchase that phone from motorola! Corporate will then pay that store 6 months worth of what you would pay for your bill in advance, therefore gettin the money back the money they were out on selling you a phone! With smartphone/pdas, there is really not much of a profit margin for stores because believe it or not, they are THAT expensive! Don't even get started with some of the higher end smartphones such as the real nice treo's and blackberries! The reason they are charging you more for not getting the data package is because they too would have gotten commission on the data package add on and therefore cutting thier losses to a smaller amout but since you neglected to get it, they have no option but to raise the price up on the phone you want! The early upgrade fee is BS: thats just them being greedy..but hey, that's capitalism for you...

With a regular bs phone like a razor or a some regular flip phones, store can stand to make $150+ on comissions, but this is not the case with pda/smartphones for reasons stated above...

i almost got that phone, i got the Rumor instead. i bought it yesterday. haha you gota have the hookups man, i basically got it for nothing. but yes they most often will hit you with every charge they can

just hit ebay with the battery model number, you can buy all kinds of cellphone batteries for a couple bucks off ebay. i got a spare for my Razr for 99 cents plus 4 bucks for shipping.

5 bucks a battery, not bad.

trust me, they should have them on ebay.

I got a track phone. Just add minutes when I need them. I don't text or take pics and vids with a phone anyway. I just need it to communicate briefly for work, home, or emergency situations.. Not to say hello and shoot the breeze..
