Default job suggestions

I am 19 yrs old and i currently go to a Junior college mon-thurs. And i have a part time job on fri-sat-sun for a clothing store making minimum wage. I want to find a job during the week because i get home from school at 11 AM and hw doesn't take me that long to do. I do not want to get another retail job, getting into the Restaurants because they require previous experience in that field. I was thinking of getting a service job. There is like wheel works and businesses like goodyear where i live but i do not know if they require some kind of degree or experience relative to autos. Any other ideas for job that would get more than minimum wage haha.

you could probably get an assembly type job in a factory with a temp agency. They typically pay about 8 or 9 bucks an hour but that's a full 8 hrs or more a day in some circumstances.. Plus they will work you hard. No slackers.. Most places use temp agencies now to get their manpower personnel. And any tire and tune up joint will probably require at least some mechanical ability, They will train you if you can do simple mechanical stuff.. The more hands on you are, and the more your willing to learn how to do will be a plus. Just be willing to take the low man on the totem pole approach wherever you start at.. Good paying jobs just are not out there today. At least not in the southeast.. Good Luck..

Actually, waiting tables at a nice restraunt is a great way to make money. We have a family friend and she is 19 and makes $100 - $150 a night waiting tables at Olive Garden. There are tax advantages too.

Why get dirty turning wrenches for minimum when you can hang out with a bunch a young, clean-cut chicks for a lot more?

I'd go for the server also. Unless they do tip sharing, you won't make quite as much as the cute females, but it's still up there. And you get to work with cute females!

best college job I ever had was delivering pizza. Just like being a server, its all tip money....but how much you make is related to how fast your are....more deliveries = more money. I would come home with at least $100 cash every night, on a real good night I would take home $175+. I noticed you said you're done at 11 AM...when do you start? because regardless of what tip oriented job you pick, you'll have to work nights to make money.

with a 7:45 start time you're going to have a tough time with a night job which is what most good tipping jobs are. FYI, next semester don't have your classes before 10AM. This gives you way more options for employment with tip related jobs. You could go find a restaurant that closes around 10pm but the money might not be there. And far a pizza delivery goes....unless you are there until close you wont make the green.

03DSG, which pizza place did you work at? thats pretty good for just driving.I should have done that when I was in HS instead of cooking...But, I vote for being a server..wife does it after college and makes about 600 a week. She works at Logan's roadhouse. Hell....I'd work there just to hook up with the server chicks. Man, now I'm hungry...goin to order Papajohn's.. Oh and Logans closes AT 10 MON-THURS. She's home by 10:30

I worked at this mom and pop joint called pisanellos. Almost no college kids ordered from there (I went to central Michigan), which meant I made more money than the Dominos, papa johns and little ceasars guys. All the customers where people who grew up in Mt Pleasant and knew pisanellos had the best pizza in town...which I agree with. most deliveries I got a $3 tip or more...most college kids tip you less than $1, usually they say keep the change, which $.35 to $.65....which isn't ****.
