Default Another Dam Insurance Thread

I have been a loyal State Farm customer my old life. Never had another insurance company. I moved a little over a year ago and just stuck with them...three cars and a house.

Been talking to some of my neighbors lately and they are all paying less then me. Besides the stang pictured below, I also have a 2002 Suburban and 2003 Saab 9-3. I pay $265/month to cover all three when the stang is in service. Premium coverage with $500 deductable....300/500k on liability blah, blah, blah. No tickets, no accidents.

Geico quoted me $185/month and USAA $150. WTH?

I am calling USAA tomorrow to switch but I have a few questions mostly pertaining to laying up the Mustang etc... What is wierd is that the quote on the stang was actually higher from USAA but WAY lower on the other two cars.

Morale of the story.....shop around! I don't really trust Geico that much, but I definatley do trust USAA.

I have been a USAA member since 1986, just never used their auto insurance.

Try nationwide.. I pay $425 for 6 mos coverage. wife pays $325 for 6 mos coverage. You also have to look at the rating symbols. For a mustang GT, it's 021 for my wifes Chrysler it's 018. higher number more pay.. I looked up a Cobra and it's like a 028.. but still Nationwide gives you safe driver stuff, plus we have been with them forever so we get long term customer stuff too...

HAH i have statefarm..and..i pay...$330 a month on 1 point, being 19, on the v6.

I got quoted by Gieco, for the same coverage...$406 a month. Everyone wants like..$406..

I got this point..I was...16..or 17 ..i don't remember anyways.. ya.

I could see like..almost 5 grand a year on insurance..if i was driving a cobra or something..but ffs. And that wasn't even in the s tang. I was in a 02 F-150, and I did a california roll. I didn't go to traffic school..well..mainly because i was at school, and then work right after, and i didn't remember to go with graduation coming up and everything else coming up...

What is this USAA

Since you decided to switch, I assume it is a typo, but you said you currently pay $285/month and USAA quoted you $505. Why would you switch if that were the case? So, how much are you saving by switching?

I am with State Farm. I have my 96 GT and a 95 V6 mustang and pay ~$100/month to cover both, just liability on the V6 and full coverage, $100 deductible. I am 23 with no tickets. When we (me and my parents) were shopping around at 16 to find insurance on my own, we found that State Farm was cheaper for younger drivers but that they did seem to become more expensive for older drivers. It may be getting near the time for me to start shopping around.

My parents have been with Liberty Mutual forever, but I have no idea how much they pay.

Yea, USSA is $150. I edited the post and messed it up and then just now fixed it again.

i must be missing something here.

I'm with Esurance, i only have 1 accident on my record from 2005. It was an injury accident, and it was a $75K claim.

but why is it I was paying $189 a month for full coverage on my 02 Mustang GT, when I'm 27 years old, with ZERO Tickets of any kind, and only 1 accident?

i know people with 2 dui's who only pay $90 a month!!!!

State Farm, All-State all want $235 a month, and a few others want $300...insurance is ridiculous and it needs to be regulated.

EDIT: my $189 per month rate was when I lived in KC...now that I moved to Tennessee, the rate dropped to $152
