Im way out of shape, so Im there with you. School starts in 2 weeks, which means Ill be back in our gym in 2 weeks.

lanmas23 08-06-2007 03:26 PM

i have two a days starting the 19th, and i'm just trying to get back into shape haha

Kains03GT 08-06-2007 03:31 PM

Hardest part is going to the gym for the first time in a while.Cause you know you'll be hurting the next day.In it sucks to be that sore.

SnTBakosFinest 08-06-2007 10:54 PM

I wrestled and kickboxed until i hurt my back when I was 16.

Wrestled 11 years, kickboxed 7..

Once I hit 13 I had to condition... first month or so drained me, badly. Eating, weighing, working out, eating a little more, weighing, more working out. Ect

Best thing I can recommend is stay far far away from the energy drinks and sodas. Gatorade, water, creatine.

You might go through caffiene withdrawls, but gatorad eand creatine will pump much more energy into you for longer.

Some years I'd have to cut off about 10 lbs in 5-6 days which put me close to dehydration, I live by gatorade nowdays.

i eat pretty healthy all the time and avoid caffeine. i just don't do much running and i play soccer.

all i have to say is, thank god i don't have to cut weight! i have friends who wrestle and they look like hell during the season

I can attest to that, I had gone back to the GYM last night after not being there in the passed couple of months with the summer vacations and chaos of it all...and I am feeling it today in my shoulders.

Uh . . . Playing soccer and running a lot are synonymous, dude.

Kains03GT 08-07-2007 02:40 PM

yeah, i know. but running is terrible, not to mention trying to motivate yourself to do it alone

Steeda97 08-08-2007 07:02 AM

Yeah, i just graduated, so my high school hockey career is over. I don't have to condition, and train this summer. I've just been working, so i dunno which is worse. haha.

Good 'ol two a days. Im so glad its my last year of these. Just started them on monday and have them for 2 weeks from 8-12 everyday. No pads this week but i have a feelin if we did half the team would have heat stroke by now. Im in better shape now than last year but still not 100%.

MattJ 08-08-2007 06:01 PM

i work out 3 or 4 days a week.

rebelyell 08-08-2007 10:59 PM

I'm working 12 hrs all this week to cover for 1st shift, and my shift. Concrete jungle on the factory floor. 8 hours of running the floor aint too bad, but today I had 2 major mold changeovers and my back is killing me now. Plus I may have to pull 12 hours on Sat. That will be 72 hours for me this week. I might need 2 days to rest my back. Do I need to be in top shape for this? Yes. Am I in top shape for this? NO. I should be but, hell I'm 47 yrs old. I hurt all over most of the time. Wish I had time to exercise. Not including lifting 12 ounce weights when I'm off work.. LOL.. But all that factory work keeps me at 176 lbs. Plus it's been 100+ degrees every day this week so far.. Ok when is break time again??

I feel sorry for all of the kids around here that play football. We're going through one of the worst droughts and highest temp. spikes I've ever seen here. 100+*'s for the last several days along with the extremely high humidity that comes with TN.. It's been horrible. Gallatin actually had some blackouts for several hours tonight due to the uberly high energy consumption of the last several days.

Thank-god that some of the schools have moved the football practices into the gym.
