My grandfather is who John Wayne tried to be.

lol....

My grandad is so rough, when he was 65 he was cutting down trees with a chainsaw, he had a felled tree he was cutting into smaller pieces, the chainsaw hit a knot and bucked up and langed right in his face, went in about an inch and chewed him up pretty bad.
Crazy SOB rounded up the dogs and put em in the truck, drove back to the ranch house, cleaned the gaping wound up and grabbed a fishhook and some twine. He sticked his own face shut then went back out and finished cutting down the trees.
My grandma had to threaten to divorce him to get him to a doctor.

They dont make em like that anymore, thats for damn sure. The dude is so hard he makes coffin nails look soft.

and he is a HUGE john wayne fan.

Happy Birthday Duke. He's my hero too... well him and Steve McQueen. hehe.. My grandpa they say was like that too Ripper. He would be 109 if he were still alive. I never knew the man but my dad says he was a great guy but tough as nails. He pulled his own teeth with a pair of pliers. I guess it must have been back in the depression or something and he took a job cutting wood once. He was using an axe and missed and got his own foot and lost a toe or two. He said the "doc" or whatever that was out with them had to saw part of the bone off that was sticking out and was told to bite down on a stick. heheh.. Crazy stuff. heheh..

ripping out teeth with pliers must have been a big thing with our grandads, paps did the same thing. out farts are crazy! i wouldn't ever do something like that.

which is the movie when clint saw the cute girl...never met her but followed her into the barn..smacked her all over the place...threw her on the hay and screwed her?...man hollywood was different back then..i'm pretty sure you go to jail for that these days :boink: :boink: i still cheer when john wayne kicks down maureen oharas door in the quiet man and throws her on the bed with enough force to break it down

LOOT 05-24-2007 10:16 PM

My brother has what some would consider to be a sort of shrine dedicated to John Wayne in his basement. lol... We can't forget about Charles Bronson. That dude was pretty tough too. hehe..
