11 Die At Pakistani Kite Flying Festival
LAHORE, Pakistan -- An annual kite festival Sunday in eastern Pakistan has left at least 11 people dead.
Officials said two died after their throats were cut by metal kite strings. Kite flyers often use string made of wire or coated with ground glass to try to cut the strings of rivals or damage other kites.
The festival is also often marked with celebratory gunshots fired into the air. Five people died after being hit by stray bullets.
Two people were electrocuted when they tried to untangle kites from overhead power cables.
Two others fell from roofs. One was a boy chasing a stray kite. Another was a woman trying to stop her son from going after a kite.
Police arrested more than 700 people during this year's festival for using sharpened kite strings or firing guns. Officials said they also seized more than 280 illegally held weapons.

no... that's still just suicide. you'll have to be killed as a side effect of a greater mission against some enemy of the faith or not at all. Besides... you're still a dirty infidel even if you know how to pander to a slightly less popular deity.

OMFG aint that the truth?
Ya know, if america REALLY wants all that oil out in the desert, all they gotta do is start drilling alaska and get oil from ANYWHERE but the middle east for a few months. by the time we go back they will probably have all killed themselves. I mean, they already killed 11 in a fun kite festival!
sorry, dont mean to sound racist or to hate on allah and the muslim religion, but 90% of those ****ers out there are ****ing insane, live to kill, and should just die so the rest of the world can co-habitate without all thier bullshit.

My Electronics teacher told us a funny story last night and this reminded me of it.
A Marine sniper was interviewed recently about his involvement in the war. At one point the interviewer asked him if he felt anything when he killed someone. He looked at her and said, "Yeah, recoil."

Ironic. I'm reading a book called "The Kite Runner" which has to do with this..apparently the last kite in the air wins..so people pull other peoples kites down..not when there's metal and glass on em though..the event is outlawed in iraq

A CNN News reporter while interviewing a Marine sniper asked, "What do you feel when you shoot a terrorist?"
The Marine sniper shrugged and replied, "Recoil."
That's the one I heard a long time ago
