Im definately loving my gt but would cars like 03 eclipse be better?
I dont know what to tell him he just confused.

Never say the words "Eclipse" and "Trans AM" on a Mustang website. hahahaha.....seriously! If he just got his license let him try out a 6er. Can't go wrong with it.

I would tell your friend to go with a V-6 mustang. I had two if them before getting a GT, and they were still fun to drive.

Yeah, the v6 stang will still be quicker then the eclipse. A GT is not that hard to handle at all, it just depends on how crazy your friend is behind the wheel.

I deffinetly would NOT recommend getting a sports car as your first vehicle. You need to learn how to drive before you learn how to control your high powered sports car. MOST kids arent mature enough to handle a v8 car.

A Mustang GT is way too much hp for 99% of the kids who have just gotten their DL. I know I am an old fart at the age of 37, but I think a driver that young with no experience who owns a car like this is just plain irresponsible. He is guarenteed to wreck it...at least once. I would wager a bet that within 3 months it will be in the body shop with some serious damage and hopefully no injuries. I am by no means trying to be cynical, just honest. The insurance industry agrees with me too.

Rule of thumb, if a car costs you over $300 per month to ensure and you have a squeaky clean record, someone is trying to tell you something. It's called "accident waiting to happen."

My "neice" is 17. Very typcial teenage girl. Brilliant student and extremely responsible. Lizzy has her first new car now....2003 Alero that I helped her buy (her own money, I found the car for her). It's a 4 cyl 5 speed. Yes, a chick who can drive a stick. Has 6,000 miles on it and was less than $7k.

So far, the car has a busted front spoiler and a cracked rear bumper and tail light. She also drives my wife's Suburban from time to time. She has so far hit a tree, and an house AC unit trying to manuver in a driveway.

Two of the teenagers in my immediate neighborhood have destroyed two cars each. One kid spend 8 weeks on a ventillator (slipped on ice) and will never be the same. Broke nearly every bone in his body two winters ago. Neither can get insurance now. Truthfully, I blame their parents. They put their kids behind the wheel and allowed them to drive in situations in which they had no training in cars that they can not handle.

Do your friend a favor. Let him drive whatever he wants and can afford. Just whack him on the head whenever he is a knucklehead.

And the kids who drive hondas, eclipses yada yada yada...I just wanted to add a footnote to that . Which is why I would recommend a civic for a beginner. My insurance was the key for me not getting a GT with the 6 banger I started out $309. a month on car payments(it was new). my insurance was about $333. a month $1,900.00 every sic months or $1000.00 every 3 with a clean driving record and I was on my parents insurance. To keep the insurance down...sorry guys but I would have to recomend a civic or something...that way if he wrecks it there is one less on the road

O yea those green lamas trip me out when i see them....I have nightmares jk
