Default I thought this was interesting...

Long story short, I was looking at the specs for the new BMW X5 SUV's. My friend's dad got one and we were talking about the HP output of the V8. He couldn't remember if it was a 4.4 or 4.8.

Anyways, the v6 version is a 3.0 and it puts out 260 HP. I thought this was very interesting considering the 3.8's in the 99-04 only did 193HP. That's 0.8 more liter's and it's still almost 70HP short.

260 HP in a 3.0... that's some serious numbers IMO. I'm sure there are better V6's out there, but I never pay attention.

Also...

DOHC, Inline 6, 10.7:1 compression (seem high??), and tuned to premium octane.

Still, that's a powerful engine for that size.

I'd eat that Ferrari Modena in the quarter mile anyday. I can almost double it's torque output.
