New Developments in my crazy life.

Im gonna be a daddy.

lol.....

I am pretty stoked.... but im also absolutly TERRIFIED....

Been with this girl 2 months. thats all.... just 2 months....
we discussed this last night once she found out. The various alternatives.
She just told me she wants to keep it. Im in 100% too.

so, right now im really freaked out. Probably just because this was so unexpected. But hey, i'm 29, got a good job, got a house. **** it. why not eh? Might as well settle down and try out the family thing. better thank drinking myself to an early grave.

No were not getting married. Not yet, we will get married later on if things continue the way they are, but im not going to marry cause of a kid. i will only marry for Love or Insurance reasons. LMAO

The only thing i wish is that we were together longer. I am so crazy about this girl, i have a habit of walling women out of my heart. Lot of girls dumped me cause i refused to let them in. She waltzed on through like the walls werent even there. She is absolutly awesome.

Please, dont bother with the "you sure its yours?" and "keep-a-nigga baby" and all that. Not interested in hearing it.

man i know nothing about kids..... kids scare the hell out of me. the only time ive been around little children is when i was a little child myself....

this is gonna be interesting to say the least..

still havent told my family.... they havent even met her yet... ugh.... gee i cant WAIT to see how that goes. lol

now to see if i can pull this off and still keep the mustang..... 480 bucks a month extra would be nice though...

Stan 10-24-2006 04:24 PM

congrats jack!, birth of a child is awesome! goodluck with it!

PS: time to sell the stang and get a MINIVAN!

4.6 Love 10-24-2006 04:29 PM

Congrats bro. I too want to be a daddy in the near future...:D

macs03GT 10-24-2006 04:34 PM

congrats man. don't think i'd be that laid back about it like you though. I'm terrified of kids. Good luck man....at least you have your life on track unlike some people.

03AZRoush 10-24-2006 04:37 PM

Having a baby is probably one of the best things thats ever gonna happen to you. Congrats!

MattJ 10-24-2006 04:44 PM

Hey man usually im against kids but you really have the perfect situation to raise a kid into. I mean you are financially secure, have a nice house, nice job, ect... Mustangs are pretty much a no-baby kind of ride so you may have to ditch your beater and get something better to scoot your family around town in.

good luck...

GREG@SN95 10-24-2006 04:48 PM

lol...

Its good to know you ain't gonna get married... congrats!

tennstang 10-24-2006 05:11 PM

Congratulations Jack and I admire you and your gf for doing the right thing. Kids are great. My wife of 17 yrs and I just had our 4th kid. I started when I was 25 and I'm just now finishing up at 40. lol. <insert Lance joke here>

You will make a good dad as you seem like a pretty level headed dude.

oh .. yea.. if you think the stang payment is rough.. wait till you price daycare!

F*cking OUCH!! :)

LOL... yeah, people i work with who have kids mention it from time to time. What... 600-700 for a baby, 400-500 for a toddler!!!!!!!!!
OUCH!

Jack The Ripper 10-24-2006 05:22 PM

AHHHHH CRAP.

welp. I was talking about this to my brother. he said best bet is to let my parents meet her (yeah thats right, they have not met her yet) then a few days later tell them about it.

i thought that was pretty good advice.

my girlfriend already told her mom. I havent met her, but from what i hear about her and her mom this is not a good thing.....

lol....

i guess she is super religious and is very paranoid about the government and a little bit kooky.

this is gonna be fun

GREG@SN95 10-24-2006 05:23 PM

oh yeh... abortion is murder... so great decision in my book :beerchug:

As a father of three....girls, I will give ya some advice:

1 - This is a HUGE comittment!!! Bigger then you can imagine.

2 - My wife and I were married about 4 years before we got pregnant. My wife said that she wanted a kid and I agreed. There was no conversation. The point is, many people talk themselves to death about kids, then never have them.

3 - It is not what you do before you have a kid that matters, but what you do after you have the kid that counts the most. Did you screw up by getting her knocked-up? Sure. BUT, you can still grab the situation by the horns and make it work.

4 - You are almost 30 years old. It is time to be a man anyway-LOL

5 - Don't pretend that having kids is not gonna change your life. This is the biggest mistake int he book.

6 - Lastly, I used to drive my stang with TWO car seats in it. So what! Anyone single guy can own a stang, but trying having a wife, babies, and a mortgage and having a stang. Shit, if I had done the single thing my whole life you would not see me on this site. I would be driving a Lambo at a minumum....but I would not trade my life that I have now for a car. Keep the car if you can, but don't let your baby go hungry or do w/o because of a machine.

7 - Diapers suck!

8 - Formula sucks!

9 - Doctor bills suck!

10 - Crying all night, sucks!

11 - My girls kissed me before then went to bed tonight - PRICELESS.

Badfish 10-24-2006 09:17 PM

dude, that IS a huge ****in commitment...

LOL...
My responces,
1) Yeah, im imagining pretty big, im sure im only scratching the surface.
2) thats very true...
3) Yep. Diddnt wrap it. The funny thing i have no freakin clue how many times ive had sex with how many women and diddnt use a rubber, untill now never got a girl pregnant. She and her ex were together for a few years and at once point they tried to get pregnant, never happened. he was checked out at a fertility specialist and was fine, they figured the problem was with her. Then i waltz in, and a month later she is knocked up. Lol. The GOOD thing is of all the women i have dated in the past 5 years this is the first one i ever though of having a serious long term relationship with. So, better HER than any of my prev relationships. I seriously think i could spend the rest of my life with her and be quite happy with it. My priorities are all changing. im good with it though :)
4) Yep. 30 in january. Ive somewhat settled down a bit already over the past few years. I think im ready for something like this. I wouldnt mind a year or so to get to knoew her better tho. lol
5) I absolutly recognise that fact. I have friends who have kids and thier lifes definatly changed, allthough they all say it is for the better and i believe them. No more snorting cocaine off a hookers tits for ol jack! LOL!
6) Thats a damn good point, if i can hold onto the stang thats quite a feat. If i cant, ill sell it and get a cheaper foxbody with lower payments. lol.
7) Im dreading that.
8) what, does it taste bad or something?
9) Thank god i got a bitching medical insurance plan!!!!!!!!!
10) unfortunatly she is a heavy sleeper and i am a light sleeper. plus since she works a day shift i know it will be my job to deal with the crying kid.
11) I bet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK here's my opinion. I was in your shoes when I was 32 years old. But.. I was living with my girlfriend (now my wife) for almost a year and a half, and I knew I loved her. She told me she was preggo and it was definatley a shock.

We got married 2 months later, and it was the best decision my sorry ass ever made. I've been married for almost 15 years to my soulmate in life. (wasn't sure until we became a family unit). When you have a child you will develope the paternal instinct, and it will come naturally. When you hold your baby for the 1st time you'll know it.

There will be trying times ahead though. Babies cry, but you have to figure out why. But I always remember the good times of having a rugrat to nurture.

I wouldn't change a thing in my life from the day my son was born. At your young adult age you can handle the responsibility. It will be a fun ride if you let nature take its course. Just be patient at first. And be a good DAD, There aint many left..

Good luck on your new role in life.. :bigwink:
