Default wow... learned some cool family history this past week

my grand father was a police officer in estonia during WWII. One day he was at work and was notified that the comy bastard were waiting for his at his house.

So him and a few of his family member jumped on a ship and sailed to America

He left behind 3 daughters and his wife. In the states, he learned as mush english as possible, struggled to make ends meet and started a family... he has 2 sons, my father and my uncle...

All my estonian family has since been unknowned to us. We had pictures but no names.

last week my pops and my uncle went to estonia for the first time. They made way to one of the locations in one of the pictures. They found my grandfathers old house... knocked on the door.

My fathers neice opened the door and he learned that the 2 oldest of his 1/2 sisters have since passed away. His neice is the same age as him.

I think its incredible interesting. We finally know who the people in the photos were. We are also giving them some money since they are rather poor.

I can;t wait til my pops gets home.

that's great that you found something on your family history. Kinda cowardly to leave his wife and kids like that though. Don't think I could'a done it.

I realize that, but still, leaving a wife and 3 kids behind! That's like having my family trapped in a burning house and not going in to help cause I'd get burned. Not bashing your family, just don't think I could'a done it!

no...

its more like go home and die and put your family in greater risk... or disapear and everyone is safe...

If there was a bunch of people waiting at your house for you and your family was fine... I highly doubt you'd go home... that would be plain retarded

there is a difference...

burning house = family at risk
communests at your house = no family risk
