Hennessey Dispute

Not sure if any of you have heard about this or not but check it out. Definitely some good reading material for a slow day:

This all started today on CherokeeSRT8.com forums. My buddy with the Jeep has been asking me to check out superchargers and turbos for his SRT8. He said he was really interested the Hennessey turbo kit for $10,000. This was probably a month ago. I started doing some research and found all these claims made by people about Hennessey Motorsports and told my buddy to stay away from them. Well I sign on to the SRT8 website today and theres a post from a user named "John Hennessey" and he says they are basically testing out this new kit for the Grand Cherokee SRT8 and they will post vids soon.
After reading these claims that this guys has been ripping people off I decided to post a questions asking if all the claims were true, and so on. You can read the rest if you want.

Short Story: John Hennessey has threatened to sue me for my post on CherokeeSrt8.com...

And this is his latest statement to me:
When did you stop beating your wife? when did you stop masturbating in the shower?

some questions dont deserve answers. if you or anyone else does not want to do business with us then thats your choice.

Wow....that's crazy he threatened to sue you. Screw that guy man, what a jerk off. I'm really impressed with the Admin of that site and how they basically told him to shove it!

Don't worry about anything dude, he can't sue you for expressing your opinion or re-stating facts that are already out there. If companies could sue everytime someone said their product or customer service are crap I'd be in jail! ha ha

wow....i had some respect for that man..but now.....it dropped when i read that post where he was "in the shower" (if u read...ull understand..its funny)

i just laughed all the way thru that and its very comical....he doesnt refute any of the acuisations that u posted but threatened to sue you...which means the acuisations are true....

Whether its him on that board or not, he is a crook. Its been shown time and time again, people will send him their cars, and get umpteen thousands of dollars of work done but it takes MONTHS and when they come check, their stock parts will be missing and such as he SOLD THEM off of their cars without their permission. I dont see how he stays in business...

I hate to say it but there are a lot of guys in buisiness like that with the same attitude. Ive seen it quite a few times on forums where a company owner comes on, something is said, and they flip a storm out and show their true side. Ive gotta say, hes built quite a name for himself and his company and their work is world renouned. The best thing to do is bring this to the attention of as many people as possible. This reminds me of when I used to be into car audio pretty seriously. There was the same kind of guy named Matt Overpeck who owned Audiomobile Engineering which was an astounding driver but a few problems came up on a forum he was a member of and the same attitude was shown. a short while later, he was out of buisness.

MattJ brings up a good point about powerful internet forums can be when it comes to issues like this.

I remember when I first started getting into modding mustangs I ordered some stuff from UPR and at the time their customer service was just horrible.....they never shipped when they were supposed to, and if they didn't have the parts they wouldn't tell you and just take your order and make you wait months.....blah blah blah......then I started doing research on them and forum after forum people were bad mouthing them.....long story short I think they got the picture because it's a COMPLETELY different attitude over there now. Props to them for turning it around. Heck they even call me every now and again to ask if I'm satisfied with their products or if I have any question with what I ordered. Can't beat that!

Anyway, my point is that companies like Hennessy need to get with the program because information like this will spread like wild fire and he'll be out of business! Days when we didn't have internet and a way for people all over the world and country to communicate instantly, companies like his could get away with this crap, not anymore!!!!

The weird thing is, all the guys on Viperalley.com seem to adore and get along with him fine (well aware of his past). In fact, if people come on the board trashing John, they seem to defend him.

I think that he has made mistakes, but we are talking about stuff 5-6 years ago. Also - I believe he made good on some or all of his mistakes. You can't just listen to one side of any story.

Regardless - he acts like a baby.
