Unhappy AHHHH!!!! My window just broke.

I went to my garage and hopped in my car to go get a slushy and since my A/C line blew up the day before yesterday, I have to roll down my windows in California's cold weather!! 100+ degrees!!! My window was already down but there is a nearby fire and ash is flying everywhere so I went to roll it up some and...nothing happens!!! My window is stuck rolled down!! What could be the problem?? Its not a fuse I don't think because my passenger side window works fine!! PLEASE HELP!!!! :wallbash:

Any noise coming from the window area? might be a blown window motor.

Listen....I have this as a constant problem with my car right now. My problem is that I think interior spray (Armorall or similar) is getting under my buttons and coating the contacts on the switch. I have sinbce three times taken my panel off, removed the switches, dissasembled the entire switch and cleaned the copper contacts with a file or sand paper. I can even see the oxidation on the contacts. If bet if you were to hot wire the switch, the window would go up.

I am going to buy a new switch tomorrow and finally just replace the friggin thing.

I tell this to alot of mustang guys they dont belive me till they try it. But if you press the button and hear a click thats the motor trying to work. here is what to do. Just sit int eh car hold the up button and hit the door panel with your fist (hard) right behind the speaker and under the door handle. I had mine get stuck when we had all those hurricanes down here. I got so mad trying to figure out how a 2 year old cars window stops work ing after trying all kinds of stuff and hit it and it freed it up. It just got stuck thats all.

No there is absolutly NO sound coming from the door at all. I do use alot of finish 2001 interior shine around the switches so I might try that. I just recently switched to Meguires Interior WIPES, so hopefully I won't ever have that problem again. Thanks for the advice, I'll let you guys know how it turns out!

I had the same problem

It was a bad switch...

My driver side rear window got stuck down... and I couldn't get it to go back up...

So I tried splicing the driverside rear window wires to the wires that run to the switch for the pass side... and it worked... so basicly when I hit the switch for the pass rear window they both go down and the other switch doesnothing... lol...

uh... you are gonna need to get a new switch panel or whatever... the switch does not work... there is no way to fix it...

so you could pull a me... or go to a junk yard or search online for a new switch...

hope this helps...

Since we live in the Humidity State I think its the rust that forms on the door mech. I havnt had the problem on my 98 but my 85 I had to wack the door by the speaker to get it unstuck like you did.
