If you can't get it out from the wheel well side, unbolt the intake tube from the MAF and pull it towards the engine side of the fender. This should make more room in the wheel well area to get the filter out.

You have to go under the fornt of the car and pull it out of the fender well. Thats how the filter is removed from a fenderwell kit.

Thats how you have to do it. My filter in the fenderwell is about 8 inches long and it came on the car when i got it. Its a cheap generic looking ebay one. You have to take the passenger side wheel well insert out or just take out the screws and move it to the side and take your filter out. Id rather have the factory one.
