Default I was gonna wait on gears but....
I was gonna wait to get gears after my 1000 mile road trip in the first week of August, but should I just wait and get them ASAP???

Reason was I didnt want to travel that many miles at high RPM's (all highway). Don't care about gas mileage, if I was wanting good mileage I wouldnt of gotten a GT

high rpms? theyll go up by like 2-300

i bought gears about a week ago but havnt got them in yet and i just bought a set of Underdrive pulley's hopefully my car pulls harder than anything that has ever pulled!!!!

The higher RPM's are not that bad.At 80 I'm at 2.7/2.8 in 5th gear on the highway.

lance but 80 is over the speed limit and no1 on this site ever goes over the speed limit:shifty:

Before my brother got his Kenne Bell supercharger, he had put 3.73 gears in it... i had driven it a few times and didnt really like the way i had no first gear... too short... but when you really got on it you appreciated how quickly the car got into its power band... i dont know if i am going to do gears or not down the road...

well im an auto so at 80 in 4th I may be like 2.6K rpm

See I don't really want to be going at 2.9K RPM for 8 straight hours when I go on vacation.

hmm I have a auto too but at 80 were still in 3rd gear im pretty sure.

We're definately in 4th, lol. Unless u have O/D off, but even then I'm sure your in 4th.

With my dyno tune and my auto, I change to fourth gear at 42MPH.

DUDE i thought that was just my auto that did that...it shifts into o/d at around 42mph...it is wierd because i want it to shift sooner! lol damn automatics

and lance...i dont think we can compare to what rpms your at because of u having a 6th gear...lucky bastard

Its really not that bad. I dont know why people are so scared of the extra RPM. IMO, its MUCH more enjoyable with the extra rpm because your car isnt a freakin slug in 5th gear...DO IT NOW!!!

exactly...4th gear @ 40-45 miles per hour sux w/ stock gearing for me..

I'm at about 2,900 ish at 80 miles per hour. I'm a auto with 4.10 gears. Don't be a baby and just get them. I travel 100 miles a week on the highway if not more.
