Ford planning more potent GTR/GT500KR 2008 Mustang?
Found this little article/blurb on LeftLaneNews.com:
Ford may be planning a more powerful version of its Mustang coupe/convertible for the 2008 or 2009 model year, according to a new report. With the launch of the 2007 Shelby GT500 imminent, Dearborn is already considering where to go next. According to StangsUnleashed, that could come in the form of a successor to the 1968 GT500KR. The KR is for “King of the Road.” The premise of these rumors is that Ford wants to have a vehicle ready to compete with the possibility of a Corvette Z06-engined Camaro or a 6.1L Challenger. While we’re not sure if the KR designation return, this rumor is backed up by a recent paten filing revealed by Leftlane News. According to the U.S. patent office, Ford trademarked the name “Mustang GT-R” in early 2006. It will also be interesting to see if Ford has the next-generation “2009″ Mustang ready for the Challenger/Camaro, or if it will first update the current machine.

the new camaro does nothing for chevy.
the only people able to afford one are middle aged rich white folks.
not to mention the thing is futuristic ugly.
looks like it belongs in irobot or something.
they should have gone ford and dodges route and make something classic yet still appealing, and offer a moderate v8 affordable to teenagers and a v6 for the guy's girl.
i think the engineering world has forgot about the initial purpose of the muscle car.

I think Chevy understands this fact and honestly although I love my Fords, it's guna be rough when Chevy comes out with Camaros priced the same as Fords and with more power...Right now ford is reapin the benifits of alota people that came over from Chevy because it died, now they're guna head back over to chevy...

You have to understand that the Mustang has ALWAYS been an affordable sports car for everybody. If you want bigger or badder, you could always step up on the models and thats whats made it so sucessfull since the mid 60s. You can simply choose what you like the best and get it. If its not fast enough, its a car who has the one of the widest range of aftermarket parts available compared to any car in the world.

the cars are gona get faster and the engines bigger!
The only reason it ever ended was due to emmision laws and gas...
But with new techology they are able to pass bye!
YEEHAW! I'm so glad I'll be here for the 2nd muscle car era!

AND NO!
Camaro will NOT die! at least not right away...
ike i said... pony car wars II!
That was a big reason for the demise of camaros... same performance yet in a cheaper car..
The corvette is a super car and he camaro a pony car...
I HIGHLY doubt that the camaro will die quickly or quietly...
