woot woot 200k
I'm pretty excited. Today a guy came to evaluate the shelby so dad could insure it for more. The guy said other then a couple few things the car is almost in perfect shape and that when its finished will be worth around 200,000 :pepper: . So say hello to a cobra for me:clap:
|
So you're dad has a shelby?...i'm not really following you..
|
and hes selling it?
|
1968 shelby gt 350 all original:punk:. 40k miles or something.
|
I don't understand....your getting a shelby? or your dad is sellin his?...

200k thats a downpayment on a house...LoL why sell a cobra, when you can always say you HAVE it...
|
you gotta see it from his point of view if anything happens to it if he drives it. He wont get as much from the insurance as he possibly could from selling it. It's insured for like 70k or something like that. The thing is pretty sweet and i get to drive it to prom:punk:
|
u drive to prom?

No i normally would go in a limo, but i have the chance to drive a shelby so im not gonna pass it up. Better then taking a limo anyways. Cant hear the sound of a carbed 302:beerchug:
|
oh ok... yea i couldnt pass up driving a shelby either:punk:
|
Dont crash it.

if ya'll sell that car... dont blow the money... i guess buying a new cobra is pretty cool... but if you were wise ya'll would invest the remainder... thats a nice chunk of change... |
We wouldnt blow it all if my parents just spent money they would be in debt. There buying me a cobra when they sell it. My dad just wants another 73 comet gt and my mom wants a 05 mustang sixbanger.

Hmm, my opinion? You arent getting ANYWHERE near 200k for a gt350, but thats just MY esteemed (HAHA) opinion. Cool though, Id keep it, and drive the hell out of it.

A cherry GT-350 with 40k ain't worth 200k...maybe half that much if you are lucky. If I were you and you could get 200k for the car, I would sell it and give away a fee trip to Hawaii to the buyer. GT-500's verts might pull that much...in fact I believe there have been some that got more. I saw one with under 10k miles (GT 500 vert) that got 180k.
Truth be known, something is only worth what someone will give you and if you dad can find a buyer willing to part with 200k, the car should be sold. Regardless, I would keep it even if it were only worth 70k. Why, because it is an excellent investment that will only appreciate further. |

But what you dont understand, is that people dont CARE that there were less 350's made, and dont act like a jackass, Im just telling you, that you wont get 200k for that car. Its funny, you have a shelby, and you have to act like a prick about it already...Id get a second opinion from another inspector.

I could see 200k for a special edition GT350 that was picked up at the dealer, flatbedded to a warehouse, and never driven except 1-2 miles eevery 6 months to get the oil to pump through to keep it lubbed. And professionally detailed once a year and kept under cover with the origional car smell intact....... with a rather large bag of spanish dubloons in the glovebox...
ROFL. that does seem rediculously high dude. I mean come on, how many cars did you see break 200k on the berret jackson auto auction thing.... a lot of cars alot rarer with all matching numbers in show car condition were being sold there for far less...... Now if it was like, an all numbers-matching perfect-condition with less than 5,000 miles 1969 Boss 429 that had been professional kept and maintained? well... i could believe that. a show quality number-matching 69 boss 429 is roughly 150,000. how many boss 429's were made compared to GT350's? not trying to knock ya dude, that just seems rediculously high..... |

Please read my post before my last one it says i dont even think it will go for that. I will get the number for you guys you can talk to the man if you want i dont care. I just love it how their are the few that can say thats cool and all, but most of you have to find a way to rip at it somehow its cool. |
Because you have to be smug about it when we actually call you on it. Try and sell it for that, I really dont care. Congrats for having a nice car. The end.

CAll me one what dude. I'm quoting what the inspector said. Do you no understand me i have no reason to lie to a bunch of run of the mill gt's( this just goes out to the few that decide its cool to rip apart everything). I was just excited what the guy said. I even said earlier that i didnt think it would go for that. |
here are some production numbers, not sure how accurate.
If there were really only 7 68 Shelby GT350 Coupes made, 200k doesent sound that far off at all. 68 Shelby GT350 Fastback, 302Ci, 250hp, Total = 1,253 68 Shelby GT350 Convertible, 302Ci, 250hp, Total = 404 68 Shelby GT350 Coupe, 302Ci, 440hp, Total = 7 68 Shelby GT500 Fastback, 428ci, 360hp, Total = 1,140 68 Shelby GT500 Convertible 428Ci, 360hp, Total = 402 1969 Boss 429 Fastback, 429Ci, total 852 |

I have an official shelby book downstairs and i really dont want to make a big deal of this by any means. I'm sorry for posting anything on here. Ill just stick to my v6 section. Thanks to those who did have something decent to say just close the thread please. |

We went out to the big pennsylvania meet a few years back and there wasnt a single 68 350. You make no since also why would you drive the hell out of a collectors car.
