75mm throttle body and plenum
 

just installed the 75mm t/b and intake plenum..woooww thought it wouldnt be such a big improvment!!!

the throttle response is really good and power comne way earlier!!

lots more torque!

I just ordered the 70mm today!!

75mm is more for some kind of forced induction. Most people will get better gains from a 70mm :).

I have a 75mm because bigger is better......but I have nitrous so....its a good thing

can i just get a throtle body and not a new plenum

What is a plentum?

First off its plenum and its a intake elbow to the intake it directs ariflow.
Second of all you'd be wasting your time with just the t/b. It's both or nothing for a gain.

i've been under the impression that a TB/Plenum isn't that great of a mod if you dont have nitrous or S/C

I got the 70mm and noticed a nice difference after 3000 rpm with smooth power and harder pull.

Then you've been lead wrong its almost essential that you get a bigger t/b and plenum for Nitrous and S/C.....see more air flow=greater power. 75mm for forced induction and 70 mm for N/A motors.......but to be honest even if I had a N/A engine i'd still get a 75mm t/b I really cant tell a difference

you must've read his quote wrong. He was saying that he heard that u shouldnt get a 75mm UNLSS u have a s/c or nitrous. in which case, he's correct. But I cant see 75mm hurting if ur N/A

It wont hurt your mustang at all I had my 75mm even before I had nitrous..... and I had a 70mm before and I saw no difference at the track

yeah, allowing for more airflow certainly cant hurt the hp, it just wont help. Theres only so much air that will naturally come in...unless u got somethin to cram it in there..:devil2:

Well the whole thing about the 70mm and 75mm is that when you "cramming" air in with a blower for example you need the extra airway. Now I have heard this about a 75mm "hurting" hp because the airway is too big and your getting too much air and doesnt have enough force to go in properly. I think thats a load of crap in my opinion.

Now the other whole part about this is if you dont have a plenum to accomidate the amount of air that is now being let in then its worthless thats why ppl like to match. But if you know your stuff then you can mix and match...for example I went with a bbk 75mm t/b and a UPR intake plenum because the intake plenum can match up to a 75mm t/b...The reason I tell you this is that I have seen plenums that can only handle up to a 70mm t/b.

What about my 98 would i get a big difference with a body and plenum? Also is the 70mm better for me?

Have you done the PI intake swap?

No i havent.

You would get a larger gain doing that before anything else......much larger and beneficial in the long run than a plenum for you at this point.

Yeah, like I said after you do that then you'll be ready for a t/b and plenum...this is a big gain for you non-PI guys. But this swap is kinda a pain in the a$$ to do so make sure you know what your doing or take it to a mechanic that does

I dont know about the gas milage "crap" you speak of but mods like CAI's, exhaust and even T/b and plenum do give you better gas milage under normal driving conditions and when I mean by normal driving i'm not talking about flooring it and accelerating fast. The hardest thing is keeping your foot off the gas. But in a nutshell yes a t/b and plenum gives you better gas milage.
