Default I have some questions?

I have purchased a Mercury grand Marquis 01' and i am wanting to put on some mustang wheels. i would like to know if i can put on some 17 or 18's.And the deep dish in the rear. I also want to change out the ring and pinion gears to something lower. such as some 3.55's, i would like to know if anyone would know if these 2 items will work. thanks to everyone and a happy new year.

you can swap gears but that car is heavy and i wouldnt go with anything less tehn 3.73 with 4.10's being what i would go with. as for the rims i have no idea what the bolt pattern is on that car.

Its probably a 5x4.5 but I would make sure you can accomidate that much of a backspacing and offset for that car. Not to say it hasnt been done before, but putting such a wide wheel on a car that wasnt designed to have wide wheels might not work out.

The bolt pattern will work, there's only one way to tell for sure, try it.

I would think 17's would provide the best look improvement without killing the ride. If you're gonna toss 18's on, think about a brake upgrade. The increased rotating mass of 18" wheels and tires will extend your braking distances enough that I'd want to do that if it were me.

read the tag on the diff cover and let us know what's on it. You probably have 3.55 or close to it already. 3.73's would be the minimum I'd put on and 4.10's would be better for the giddy-up factor with an auto trans.

Go to www.crownvic.net and ask this question or just search the forum. It's been covered there extensively.
