Default Car back from the dead....no more blower.

OK...been a while since I really made a meaningful post. Here is the deal:

Memorial Weekend I blew my motor. I had been running a Novi-2000. A section of ring land broke loose and decided to crush a plug. When the motor was torn-down, we also found a ground strap screw logged in the intake which also caused a mess of the head. I have no idea how to explain that. Bottom line...motor was toast.

The car is now back. I had a 2005 2v 4.6 motor put in it, added LT's, a Procharger, and a Stage 2 Cam. The entire swap cost me $200 because I traded my blower in return for all parts and labor. This also included a new chip and a dyno tune.

Car made 286/300. The car needs a re-tune soon to correct some idle issues (cams) and to dial-in the power. I am also going to install some UDPs and should be arounmd 305 rwhp once all donw. Not bad for a stock block and all n/a.

The car runs great...nice and strong, but I miss the boost. It was a bunch faster before. It is also insanely loud at WOT.

'05+ are 3V's Blake.

Congrats on the swap, the 3v has much more potential for less $$ than the 2v at the moment, so nice move!

yeah thats what i was thinking... 05 3v. 286/300 is what some of the 5.4 guys are making if i remember right. they may have some more torque, but still. Nice. I wonder how bad of a job that was? Change computers or anything?

He never said it was an 05 Mustang engine. Only the Explorer and Mustang got the 3V 4.6 until 09.

F150's still used 2v 4.6 then so that's my guess.

LOL - I am reading these posts and replying and not reading the whole way through......

The motor is a 2005 2V that came not from a truck.....come one....keep guessing...

BTW, the idle is perfect now....car needed a new battery.

Hey WaterDR, what size injectors were you running with the blower on?

42lb injectors are pretty standard for that blower...you can use the 39'b injectors off of a cobra as well but you would need adapters. both of those injectors will get your car to 500-550 hp to the wheels max.

back on track...im thinking the motor is out of a crown victoria...

The 42's became standard after most kits kept recommending 36's and people were melting pistons and destroying ring lands because of detonation.

There was a 2005 Lincoln Grand Marquis.

My blower setup had 42 lb injectors.

My piston damage was due to a fuel issue...not from my injectors but from the fuel pump.
