o2 sensor help
Well this weekend I threw on some long tubes with my dad and went to plug in the o2 extensions to find they don't match up. The h-pipe didn't meet up with my current exhaust either so I can't put the those on till I get an exhaust shop to cut the 8 inch piece I need to complete each side. So I had to tie my sensors up to side on my ride home and needless to say the car was running like **** and was very rich. Open headers with no o2 sensors made for a fun ride home lol.
The extenders I have match up with the MIL's (the blue and purple sensors) pattern but not the primary o2 sensors (green). Should I just cut the little tabs off on the sides on the o2's and slip them on anyways? I can deal with the check engine light from the MIL's till I get a tuner, but no o2's is something that I can't wait for. Don't really wanna splice. Opinions?

Yeah thats what I figured, just didn't know if the pattern of the tabs was specific to to extensions or what. Got the o2's plugged up tonight and taking it to an exhaust shop tomorrow to extend my cat back to reach the mid pipe.

um, awesome?
Where was I when all of this happened? You need to post this up to give the other v6 power guys something to drool over.
Didn't you get into an accident too the other week, is the car ok?

What will the tuner do for the engine light? I know they have a scanner in the tuner but won't the cars computer just throw the code again?
#10
The tuner will momentarily clear the engine light. If the problem persists, the computer will throw the code again regardless of the amount of times the tuner is used to clear the code.

because he has long tubes its going to threw a check engine light and the tuner will turn off the light for this mod. So it wont toss a code for having long tubes and or no cats on the car.

Oh yeah btw your helping me put the kit on the car very soon. I'll have the bottle mounted and the brain box mounted, just want your help running the lines and wires if you don't mind.
The cars ok, the rear bumper is not lol. Some chick in a red mustang rear ended me, how ironic.
Yeah I'm fine. All this new **** is helping me cope with the damaged rear bumper though. Already got the insurance check in and a GT rear will be going in its place.
Exactly. MIL's without cats won't do ****.

You can go either way to turn the light off. If you dont have the cash a simple set of MIL eliminators work just fine. If you want to get a tuner to do it, then you can do that too.

I done spent my cash on the x pipe so I'm going to have to wait on the tuner and get the eliminators. I got a hand held scanner I just might use it to keep erasing the code til I can get the tuner. I'll just wait to see how quick the light trips.

I can't wait to get the kit hooked up. Starting some this weekend if I have time.
Should be really close dude. You'll have gears/posi over me, I won't be getting those in for awile. Only thing I'll have over you is the lt's, but also gotta add my drivetrain loss cause I'm auto.
No you don't... lol

Just got done messing with the car. Had a pretty nasty exhaust leak coming from the passenger side head. Some of the header bolts were a tad bit loose. My guess would be from the headers vibrating against the frame when it was open header for a few days. Just torqued them back down and started it up. Sounds much healthier, no more ticking noises coming out.

I'll get a vid up soon. I took a quick vid of it open header just before I left for the exhaust shop. Not sure why the sound cuts in and out, but my guess is because the noise was too ******* loud to record lol. This video no where near gives an idea of how loud it really was. If you've been to the track and heard those guys running open header then you know what I mean lol.
