Default Help me decide

Ok heres the thing, im getting my car tinted in 2 weeks and tuned with a SCT the first week of june but have an extra 300 bucks to spend on whatever I want. Narrowed it down to 3 things: 1.) 3.73 or 4.10 gears 2.) Ford racing lowering springs or 3.) get my hood and spoiler painted black like this minus the pinstripe http://www.americanmuscle.com/2003-z...ustang-gt.html I got the paint job quoted for 300 at Maaco, 300 for gears + install from a guy who used to work at Ford, and 300 for springs and install at CJs in harrisburg. So theres no price difference. Any suggestions?

Gears will improve acceleration, but my vote goes for the springs. Better to get rid of the Tonka truck look before you make it faster .

Wish I knew a place to get gears for $300 installed. Shop I get all the work done on my car quoted me $310 for parts )gear set, bearing kit, T-loc and fill with Royal Purple sinthetic. and @ $280 for labor. I just don't feel confident trying to do it myself.

Gears will still most likely be my next mod.

That's cheap compared to my area...I've been to three shops and the install rates have ranged from 450-600 bucks and that's with me providing parts

That sucks. A guy i know used to work at ford and apparently he has some tool that takes the guess work out of the install. Not sure exactly what that means but whatever lol. I ordered the Ford Racing C Springs from CJs already but ill still be getting gears eventually. Maybe sometime during the summer

I know this is old but whatever its my thread lol. Anyways just wanted to tell everyone that I actually cancelled the spring order and am spending my money on 4.10s and a diablosport tuner. Talked to a bunch of friends and helped me figure out that Id rather have performance over looks any day lol

4.10's are OK I had them in my O2 but I didn't like how it seemed at 45 mph it reved a little high in 4th and way to low in 5th. After I got them I wish I would of went w/ 3.90's just my opinion though. And lowering your car just isn't for looks it will handle a lot better.

Yea I decided to switch the order of the springs and gears so probably over the summer. And another good thing is a guy I know knows how to install the springs so that'll save me 130 bucks!
