Looking to get a new clutch...
And really have no idea where to start. Clutches aren't really my thing, and needless to say...mine is starting to see the light on the other side. I could always go a stealership and order an oem clutch, but I'm not into that. I want to get a clutch that's gonna grip well, but isn't going to rip up my transmission. I've got a buddy with the Spec 1 clutch for his GT, he loves it and he's hard on his car and it's lasted him well so far...but I'm just waiting for something else to break on his car. I'm not sure what the difference is between the spec 2 and spec 3 clutches either...I imagine it's just a rating difference for those cars with a buttload of power to the wheels. I was looking on AM and I saw a Fidanza 2.1 clutch, so I was wondering what people thought of that? It appears to have a decent power rating (497ft/lbs), but I really don't know anything about it. The only thing I've heard about them is that it makes it easier to push the pedal down, but I don't care about that junk.
Any recommendations?

thats the one he's reccomending. if you dont plan on putting too many performance parts and giving your pony everything you can possibly give it, then stage 1 is more than enough. however if you do plan on liftin the front end off the road then go with 2 if you've got close to the rating of a 2 and still plan on modding go with the stage 3

For you since your not gonna do much to that car the stage 1 will hold all of your power and then some. I have the stage 2 in mine and the pedal is much stiffer then stock. But I also make more torque then its rated to hold and it holds it fine. So to keep a light pedal and not have chatter I would go with the stage 1 Spec clutch. That is of course if Spec is one of your choices for a clutch. I can say that I have beaten the **** out of mine. And any of the Florida people can attest to the fact that drive my car hard and power shift it almost every time I drive it. Spec gets a big thumbs up from me. I also have over 30k on my clutch setup now.

I have a Hays Street/Strip and I love it. Pedal is soft (for a performance clutch), engages very smoothly w/o chatter, grips well, is made from reputable parts (Valeo makes their kit, as well as OEM), the throwout bearing is not crap (unlike SPEC), and can be had for a good price. As, the thing broke in very quickly (after 50-100 miles it was good to go).
