Default bucking/surging

I was playing w/ the timing and ended up advancing it. The car has a lot more power and no detonation/pinging. Either way I now have a bucking/surging issue at about 1700rpms at cruising speeds. If you accelerate or decellerate past this point it goes away. The car idles great and also runs great at WOT. Would too much advance timing or base timing cause this issue?

Did you use a light to check it?

yea, i used a light...Either way I pulled the plugs out and it seems to be running way lean even with 44psi fuel pressure without vaccum and 39psi w/ vacuum. I have no pinging and it feels a hell of a lot faster. So should a back the timing down a little if its running lean?

yes is the answer. I have to pull a degree or two from mine for the same reason.

I bumped the timing on my 92 one day in prep to get premium on the way to work and then hit the track later. I think it was doing a similar thing when driving. I'd back it a few and see what it does like redneck says
