Ok, like when i take my baby up to the Ford dealer for an oil change...
what type of oil do they use? like if i want something special do i have to bring it myself?

also will this make my car noticably faster?
will it allow it to last longer?

 

For the average Joe, as long as you change the oil as specified, using the higher end stuff won't really help. As for what Ford uses, they use their own brand, Motorcraft, which another company makes for them (don't remember what company). If you want better stuff, you can ask for their full synthetic, though they will just throw what Ford says in the manual, which is why I change my dad's oil now.

 

Motorcraft is typically a synthetic blend. Perfectly fine for your car and no, no matter what oil you use, you won't notice any difference.

 

What about that Purple Stuff. Any good ?

 

Its good oil, but you will not feel a difference. Also ford is going to rape you on oil changes you can do it yourself for cheaper and use good products and doing an oil change is very simple and something you need to learn to do if you ever want to start working on cars.

 

i use mobil 1... its kinda pricey but w/e dad puts in his cars so im putting it in mine...
