Help help
A couple months ago, I posted here, needed help with my 05 GT. I got a referal to take it to a place not far from my house. So I called the place, took it in, told them all the problems I was having, the guy assured me he could fix everything. Well $450.00 later, I have the exact same problems, I even turned around after I left the place and told him the car was still not right, he said would just take a bit for the programs to reset. I have called and called and he does not return my calls. He did mention I may need a spring for the T.B., & he could get one if needed. So I'm calling him a hundred times, first he never returns my calls, then I FINALLY talk to him, told him all same problems, he says, must need a spring for T.B. & he'd check on this. Well never heard back from the guy. I'm at a loss here and thought I maybe could get some advise from someone. I don't know what the $450.00 was for if car is still with same problems. Help anyone
p.s. Have an XCAL II programer, JLT cold air intake.

ok, for starters the car sorta jumps forward when your not giving it any gas, which is scary..... When started it idles way high, then after it a minute or so, the idle goes way down, like too much so. Keep in mind here I don't know anything about cars mechanical wise. It also goes into "Fail Safe Engine Mode" and the check engine lite is on. I told the repair place all the problems, he told me when reprogrammed/re-tuned it would take care of all the problems, all problems still there, and I paid $450.00 and the guy does not call me back. PS I'm a female, otherwise I'd go over there and.................................So any suggestions from you guys would be of alot of help to me.

What is it idling at when you start your engine (cold..as in its been sitting over night)
Your engine should idle somewhat higher than normal so it warms up the engine quicker and heats up the oil quicker so it doesnt damage the engine
How low does it idle after reaching operating temps.
you can change the IAC (Idle Air Control) through the tune. also, the iac could be bad, a common problem among the 4.6L engines
As for the jumpyness of the car, its cause it is a manual (i am assuming thats what you have). the 3650 is a very very touchy transmission and it is very common for people to think that there is a problem with the transmission.

Thanks for your reply
When started, from overnite and or during the day, the idle is at almost 2, then after a couple minutes it is almost at zero, like you give it gas and it doesn't want to go, or it wants to go without giving it any gas.
Is there any way this could have anything to do with the Throttle Body? I am at a loss on where to even take it now, after this last ordeal.

Gosh this sounds like a Nissan Maxima I had a few years ago, would think you were launching at the light...was kinda scary!

you idle problem is in the tune as well as the warm up rpm i believe. as for the jumpiness of your car. i have no idea, maybe the butterfly valve in the throttle body is sticking. i would take it to ford and only ford.

Personally it sounds like an IAC (Idle Air Control) problem. The weird thing is that it idles really low too, typically (from all of the IAC's I've seen go bad) it just idles really high and doesn't come back down.
You said you have an XCal, I have to assume that you have a tune. Is it a custom tune, or a pre-loaded tune? The first thing I would do is plug the programmer back up and put the stock tune back into it. This would rule out a non-mechanical (software/tune) problem and point towards a failed part.
The jumpiness of the car would be directly reflected in the idle, if it tries to idle up to 2000+ rpm at a stop light with your foot on the brake, it's going to try to move the car.
So, my suggestion. Set the XCal up and re-load the original, stock tune.
