ccrm

i posted this same question in the v6 section but got no response so i will give it a try here. does the ccrm control the a/c compressor as well as the electric fan? i recently got my hands on a 96 v6 that we replaced a busted intake manifold gasket on and the electric fan does not seem to want to turn on unless my defrost is turned on or the a/c is on. now the a/c locked up before i got it so we pulled a compressor from the junkyard and as soon as we charged it up a/c worked for about two weeks. so then i had no a/c and bought a remanufactured compressor and worked for a shorter period of time. could the ccrm be causing both problems or just the fan problem?

the CCRM is a 4 function relay the provides power for the PCM, A/C clutch, Coolant Fan Mtr and Fuel Pump...so the answer to your question is "yes"....

ok, thanks i did not realize it controlled all that. that will be the next thing i replace. thanks for the reply!! this car is the first car i've owned with a complicated relay module, or at least one that has given me any problems. all the other vehicles ive had just had the regular square relays. i went to autozone and told them i needed a electric fan relay and they sold me a 6$ square relay for no reason:mad: because when i looked in the owners manual there were no simple relays for that.

anyone ever taken one of these out? can not seem to get the connector to seperate no matter how i try. tried pulling tried flat head screwdriver and all i have done was crack and damage the plastic around the connector. the little clips up top by the wiring only seem to secure the wires i did not want to pull too hard on the wiring from top and end up damaging the connector.

i thought the connection was where i put the arrow but could not get it loose.
