Traction Control Issues

Sorry it's kinda long but some explaining it needed:
Last Saturday I was comming off an on-ramp to the intersate in 4th gear, floored it to get up to speed (I don't normally floor it). My traction control came on twice (the green wheel light on the dash came on and the rear brakes kicked in). I am almost certain I wasn't loosing traction. I was going ~30mph comming off the ramp, and it kicked in at about 50mph and again at 60mph. The ground was wet from rain earlier though. I completed an AutoX event in Little Rock, it was wet from rain, the TC acted as it should when I had it turned on. When I was leaving the AutoX it was a short on-ramp to the highway so I had to floor it again and the TC kicked in again just like it did the day before but in 3rd/4th gear, ground still a little damp. I am pretty sure I wasn't loosing traction at 40-50mph this time also. I have 295 tires in the rear, did have 275 and never had the TC kick in like this, but I don't floor it usually. It doesn't come on when I have it turned off so otherwise it works fine.

Could anything other than the rear wheels spinning under acceleration cause the traction control to kick in? Like clutch slippage, faulty sensors something like that.

Any situation where the front and back wheels (or any 1 of the 4) is going a substantially different speed than the others or where you're not getting clear enough readings on the wheel speed sensors can cause it to act up. Start by cleaning off the exciter wheels and sensor tips.

Other than taht.. turn that shit off. Big brother driving your car for you will eventually cause a problem you'll hate. I couldn't tolerate my car making choices about when to use the brakes or cut fuel.

When I installed my springs a few months back I cleaned the front suspension stuff, including the ABS sensor and exciter rings pretty good, but not the back. Possibly the clean sensors up front and dirty sensors in the back. I have found my self turning it off more and more. I can't stand it at the autoX but I only had it on for a run or two this last time becuase it was wet out and was trying to see if it helped me any, it didn't. My best time was without it. Thanks r3d.
