is the attachment point on the handle broken? there should be a little lever like stem where the spring will attach to the handle. Is this what your talking about?

the spring is not inplace, it just wiggles around, i know where it has to be set, but because the handle is still in the door i cant move the spring around to where its supposed to be.
Edit- ***HOW DO I TAKE OFF THE HANDLE ITESELF.**** Theres like a pin in it but the bottom of it is bent out so it wont come out... |

peel away the watershield, drill out the rivet securing the inside handle, pull rearward on the handle to disengage it from the inner door panel, detach the latch cable from the back-side of the handle and remove it from the door.
sorry, been out of town. |
