motive or frpp
which are the better gears?
There isnt really a difference. Some people say FRPP because they have a tighter clearence, but i have used both in 8.8" rears and neither one made noise and both took my abuse.
i agree there is no different, just put 3.90s motive in last night.
never had a prob with motive, have had prob with FRPP
both are good. Motive is cheaper

My Motive Performance Plus Gears Are Quiter Than The Ford Sets I've Owned. But Who Knows, perhaps Motive Makes The Gears For Ford?
one thing i learned when i was into the off-road scene (had a Bronco) where regearing is HUGE, is that there really is only three or four companies that actually manufacture the gears, companies have the gears made through them then have their name stamped on 'em. but cheaper companies will use cheaper materials and vice versa. but overall process is identical
i always use ford. no real reason personally, but i have always heard to use ford gears, and i dont want my rear failing, so for a little insurance ill go frpp.
I voted FRPP, just because they are easier to set up than aftermarket brands. As far as longevity and materials quality, properly installed, there is no real difference, but for EASE of install, go FRPP.
Motive...cheaper AND they pay contingency.....$150.

I have never heard of any problems with FRPP gears, they are as strong as any other gear and quieter than most. The best of all they are an original Ford part :notworthy

Label a coin and flip it.

FRPP, came with all the stuff I needed to do the install. I think motive you have to buy the install kit to get the shims, not sure though.

I had motive 3.73's from MT, I let them break in for 500 miles and were professionally installed in feb. and i chipped a freakin' tooth on them big gear and Motive wouldn't warranty it even tho the wear pattern was normal and everything, it was just shoddy craftsmanship (I understand it happens maybe 1 in 10000 gears) but it would be nice if they wanted too replace them at half cost or something, but instead my mechanic is putting FRPP 4.10's :hello: so rock on can't go wrong with those I heard on the GT's 5spd :happy7:
i just got my FRPP 4.10's install yesterday and WOW!!:toothy9: ppl were right about making that their first mod. if i knew it was going to pull like that i would have done gears first.
I just go FRPP for the added insurance as well.
