Default Which Gears to choose?

I am thinking about putting gears in my GT. It has a supercharger on it and it makes 340/390 now but i will get it to around 400 by the end of the summer. My question is do i go with 3.73 or 4.10. it is a weekend car and is only drivin in the city and never sees rain. i am not concerned about gas mileage....lol. mainly i just dont want to be dissapointed and dont want to have to do it again. I know some of you guys have 4.10s with a blower and also 3.73s and was just curious how you like them. i just dont want to spin rediculously off the line when i am at like half throttle ya know. i had 4.10s in my v6 and really liked them but now with twice the power it makes me wonder what it will be like. thanks

what is the purpose of your car? Are you hitting the drags, the road course or just making a mean street machine? I have friends who run alot of boost and do the road course, the occasional strip run and mostly street the car and run 3.55 to 3.90's. None of them run 4.10's or steeper after they loaded up the superchager. I am sure alot of the guys run 4.10's or 4.56's even under boost. It is all about what you plan to do with the car and how you use it.

It will primarily be on the street but I hope to bring it to a couple road courses several times a year. I would also like to bring it to a drag strip once or twice just to see what it will do. So basically I would like to make it an aggressive 400 rwhp car on the street and a road course. With it being a centri type blower I figured I would be ok with 3.73, 3.90, or maybe even 4.10 gears. What do you guys recommend?

You are likely going to get different answers to this question, so be prepared. Personally though, I wouldn't go above the 3.90's as they have a nice range betweeen the 3.73's and 4.10's and will allow you to keep things streetable and track worthy without causing the centri to run out of gas and juice at the higher rpms. I would go with 3.73's for my ride if running a blower. I know their a few others who run the 4.10's with good results. Check with AMP, Modular Mustang Racing, Modular Madness, D&D Garage, or any other good shop you can find and see what they tell you as well. REMEMBER: Get a tune no matter what you do to maximize the ability of the upgrade.

I figured that I would get a few different answers. I will probably just run the FRPP 3.73 gears and be done with it. Thanks for your advice and I will check at those other places. I have a SCT X Cal that i will be bringing to my tuner to take care of a few other things as well, ie. power pipe and moving the IAT.
