brake pedal effort
It takes lots of pedal effort to stop my 98 Mustang GT. I bought it last month, and am new to the I'm used to my Nissan Z, and a 'Fin G35. I'm not sure if it is like this for all Mustangs. Is there anything to do to remedy the situation, such as a big brake upgrade? It almost feels the power brakes don't work. Is there something wrong with my car?

OK, well I typed up the whole explanation once already, but MB Crapped out again (what else is new?)
ANYWAY.. I think one of the main things is you're going from smaller cars, and at 3,000lbs+ these bastards aren't light.. lol And you probably don't have ABS.
The GT and the V6 Models have the same small brakes, many many people state that the brakes are way too small for the GT. Most will upgrade to the 13" Cobra/Mach1/Bullitt conversion kit. I know there are several people here that swear by them.

ok, its hard to answer, but exactly how hard is it to stop?
My 04 GT before i got the bullet brakes still braked pretty well. I have driven many other vehicals and never thought it was hard to brake.
is the pedal spongy at all? might be air in the brakes.
do you feel that the car does not stop fast enough? or is it more of a hard feeling in the pedal?

I do not have ABS. Would you recomend upgrading the rear brakes as well?
The pedal does not feel spongey, but does not have a good feel for the lock up point. (I figure SS brakes hoses will fix that) It also has all new brake pads and the pedal is up very high (good).
Would the Cobra brake kit decrease the pedal effort because it uses more pistons? Sorry I'm such a noob. I just don't have any experience with Mustangs, nor brake feel on a heavier vehicle, other than below... read on.
I had the unique oppertunity to drive a friends Viper Powered Ram. (750 rwhp,926 rwtq) Needless to say, the experience was amazing, but it braked like a BMW. Very little effort in a 5000+ lb truck, and stopped on a dime (stock brakes). I was amazed.
