Default 2005 Mustang GT

Has anyone replaced the original throttle body in their 05-06 mustang GT? I just purchased a Granatelli throttle body, was having it installed yesterday, and it wasn't working properly. The guy replacing it ended up putting the original back on. It's like it sticks or something, you just tap on the gas & it revs up and does not go back down any help? thanks!

Granatelli is the problem. They make **** and market it as good stuff which it never is. It never works properly and half the time it'll come apart from normal use. Return it as defective, take the restocking fee hit, and don't ever buy from Granachina again.

The 05 has plenty of TB for the power it makes. You need not change it to make more power.

thanks for your reply. I am going to return it, my car drove home from work fine with the original TB back in place, But when I went to leave Sat morning, it went into Engine Safe Mode, and of course won't go anywhere!! Needless to say I don't have a clue how you get it out of safe mode. Thanks again.

If you think there is nothing wrong, try clearing the code by disconnecting your battery for 20 minutes. After you reconnect it, your car needs to readjust its idle program so let it idle normally, w/ the A/C on, and do some low speed driving to finalize it.

Default Might not need to return it.

I have that exact throttle body. I installed it myself and it works perfectly. What has happend is that the spring inside the side of the throttle body has come loose, or the person putting it on never adjusted it to the new throttle body. Anyway, all you need to do is have that spring re-tightened correctly in the throttle body so it opens and shuts the throttle body automatically. You should notice then that the RPM's are fixed and you will have a nice boost in torque and HP. Also, to clear the Engine Safe Code the best thing to use is a Diablo Sport or SCT programmer, it is also helpfull because bolting on stuff, like the throttle body, you need to re-adjust your speedometer as well. Hope this helps. But, you don't need to return the throttle body, it is the best on the market right now. I have no complaints, and two of my friends love it also.

Why would you need to readjust your speedo after putting a throtle body on? The only time the speedo needs to be recalibrated is w/ new rear-end gears.

Is your car an 05 mustang gt? The spring was adjusted and readjusted and still was in Engine Safe Mode, the car would start with high idle and then just shut off. We have the SCT XCal 2 tuner, which we tried over & over to clear the codes (throttle body error msgs) Last nite the guys just put back on the original T.B. they took my car around the block & it stayed running, I haven't taken it out today, I'm afraid I'll get stuck somewhere! We have been messing with this for a week now
