Default Underdrive Pulley Problem

I bought these underdrive pulleys and installed them. I took my car to a mechanic to dyno tune my car. He told me that my underdrive pulleys did not have a harmonic balancer and could cause damage to my engine over time. He told me to use Steeda pulleys because they came with a harmonic balancer. I saw the steeda pulleys and they look the same as my i believe bbk pulleys should i change them before i cause DAMAGE TO MY CAR!!!!

He's probably only seen normal dampners/harmonic balancer or something. The underdrive pulley for it doesn't look to much like one but it is. Also if it looks like the steeda one then it's right. i wouldn't worry about it, he doesn't know what he's looking at.

I have the same problem as well, in the instructions for the BBK pullies it says to mount the factory dampener to the BBK pulley but the factory pulley is one piece and doesn't come apart, so now I am not sure what to do. Any suggestions? Is there a dampener that I can get to mount to the aluminum pulley?

The steeda pulley have the harmonic balancer built right into the pulley. I thought the bbk's were a piggy back system.

With the piggyback pulleys you mount the stock dampner and pulley (yes they are all one piece) to the new crank pulley. You end up with the new pulley next to the block with the belt running on it and the dampner/stock pulley bolted to it and sticking out further than it originally did (with no belt on it obviously). It looks dumb and that's why they're cheaper and most folks don't go with the piggybacks if they don't have to. You have to really clean up the stock piece when you sandwich them together and torque the bolts down evenly or you'll throw a low rpm misfire code.

Crappy! I wanted the Aluminum ones to dress up the engine and I think that will make it look crappy. I should have done more reserch into in it before forkin out the cash. I don't think that I'll put them on now and I'll have to see if I can sell them or trade them for something. Thanks for the clarification guys.
