I have a problem with my driver side window. It will not roll up. I have already figured out that it is the window motor and I have bought a new one and took the door panel off. Now my real problem is that even with the door panel off, it is impossible to get to the window motor still. Is there a way to get the metal piece off also or is it all welded together? I have a 1996 3.8L Mustang.

Hold the button and then bang on the window hard. Fixed mine no problem.

How are you sure it is the motor???
This happens on my car about every few months. I have to pull the window switch out and clean the contacts.
