MM Street/Strip Box for suspension. If you have an extra $1500.

MattJ 07-29-2006 10:32 AM

drag supention
upgraded axles
drag radials
full bolt-ons and steep gears
sct tuner/diablo tuner/dyno tune

and you should be in the 12s. This isnt guarenteed to get you in the 12s but if you cant run 12s with that, you suck.

Man having a fast car isn't worth working your ass off.. your a kid still in high school..just work 30 hours a week so you have some money and save up..no point in saving all your money from your paychecks putting in 40+ hours a week..have some fun go out with your friends go party..hell thats what I do and I still have a bad ass GT. I have exhaust rims tint system dress up goodies..and I make 6.50 a hour being a bus boy at pappas sea food and I love it. There is always your birthday and christmas to ask for a couple bolt ons here and there =D

30 hrs a week is what i average @ 7.50 an hour..but im kinda careless...so its not really working my ass off...it making sure i dont spend on pointless things....

and ill do a few more things befor the blower...i.e. rims and stuff...you have no idea how much money i get from my family for bdays and xmas

Rejekt 07-29-2006 01:30 PM

Do it man, working your ass off for your car to be what you want it to be is better than working your ass off for some girl who doesn't appreciate anything and who leaves you for some soccer fag who lives in his moms basement at 25 years old and has a dog who he carries in his book bag!!!!!!!

Uh.... yeah, besides, enjoy it while you're young before all the bills come in and you can't do it.

spike_africa 07-29-2006 01:45 PM

My freind jon with a heavy as vert gt with just full exhuast,4.10's,slicks,lower control arms, filter, pulleys, tuned went 12.98@103 if that heavy car can do it. You can do the same in your coupe.

Saleen S330 07-29-2006 01:58 PM

slicks and launching hard, i can probably see high 12's. hell i have a heavy convert and having touched high 12's yet, but soon....

some times you have to bust your a$$ to get the toys you want, go for it, i did that to make my 95 GT the way it was by having 2 jobs.

spike_africa 07-29-2006 09:26 PM

Mine hates racing, hates me racing and yet loves nitrous? but thats a different thread.

Anyhow Trust me all it takes its traction some exhuast flow work and minor mods and you can do it. I mean hell his was a damn banana colored vert with bullitt wheels up front still to boot.

Rejekt 07-29-2006 11:59 PM

spike_africa 07-31-2006 06:45 AM

blackstallion 07-31-2006 06:49 PM

the head tuner at hitech motorsports here in MN ran a 13.7 in his stock 99 35th GT... (stock tires too)... i'm not sure what my car will be running its a 5spd with 75mm TB, CAI, Plenum, Tune, 3.73's, and full exhaust... i'm hoping 13's too but have no idea what I will run....on procharger.com they have a vid of a pro driver driving a stock gt to a 13.6....

Damn! Where do I sign up to drive like that? :D

Does double clutching make that much of a difference? (VS powershifting)

spike_africa 08-01-2006 09:34 AM

Double clutch was used back when cars had no synchros. You dont do that anymore and it takes alot more time to do. As you have to literaly let the clutch out in N before then pressing it back in before hitting the next gear.

Power shifting for my car was worth a soild 2 tenths in the 1/4.

blackstallion 08-01-2006 03:55 PM

explain to me what exactly is powershifting??? hvae heard of it but never in detail...

PureStang 08-01-2006 08:53 PM

floor it, disengage clutch (push pedal in) w/o letting off of the accelerator, shift, egnage clutch (let pedal out)....when u get better at it you can just "pop" the clutch...but if ur car is a DD (except spikeafrica), avoid this method as much as possible...if u bend a shift fork, then ur tranny is toast

EDIT: also donot allow ur rpms to go 500 rpms from where u pushed the pedal in...

spike_africa 08-02-2006 07:01 AM

its just shifting as fast as you can but you dont let off the gas pedal.

MOTT 08-02-2006 09:34 AM

I know what it's like to work your ass off for your car, I did it back in 75, I was a total whore for my ride, every penny I made went to it, and when I look back at those days, I can tell you it was worth every penny, so go for it, be a whore, and enjoy the ride. It'll be the second most expensive whore you'll ever have, a wife is the most expensive......lol

MOTT 08-02-2006 09:37 AM

What is the difference between speed shifting, and power shifting? I just want to hear your replies.....
