I would think that it'd melt the bumper or at LEAST ruin the paint. Most of what runs the flamethrowers are the old rat rods and classics with big heavy steel bumpers.

do it...don't you also have to remove your cats to run flamethrowers?

its not goign to work without adding a extra fuel pump to supply fuel to teh exhuast. The way it works in carbed engines is you rev it shut the ignition off, then keep the pedal floored and because of the carbs accelarator pumps it keeps pumping fuel as the motor has rpms still and lets gas go into the exhuast. Then the button or whatever you use to cut ignition off sends power to coils int he back that are connected to spark plugs. This lights the gas and sends flames out.

Basicly you cant do that in a efi car without running lines and fuel into the tail pipes.

enless you have enough unburnt fuel in the exhaust to ignite it. . . get a flip chip and have a stuipid rich tune turn it on to run the flamethrowers

a small fuel atomizer (like a nitrous fogger) and a spark plug and coil is all you need. I've built a few of them.. they're easy and fun but illegal in some places.

Plump the fuel to a small pump, add the coil and tap a spark plug into the tail pipe... when the mood strikes go to WOT, flip the switch and watch 10ft flames shoot out the back. Entertaining but loses fun factor after a while especially with fun at $3 a gallon.

cats can stay with my design...it's only using the upstream exhaust system as a propulsion system for the fuel vapor. The thing doesn't even make a respectable flame until 4-6" out of the tail pipe but you definitely don't want to be within 20 feet of it being lit off. If you shoot a little nitrous through the system with the fuel, the flame turns blue and gets VERY VERY hot.

Cuttin mufflers off works on turbo cars but it's totally illegal on pretty much any street car. There are things called noise laws that cops use to take away loud boys-toys.

you wouldn't be the first to shoot flames out a mustang, and you do have options. If your already or going to go catless, then i rich tune would provide the fuel. otherwise I pump, I'm assuming in the crossover pipe, r3dn3ck, would send fuel both ways. regularly add extra wax to the rear bumber. But yeah, deffinately helps with tailgaters. (Here piggy piggy piggy...)

I have always figured if your car doesnt shoot flames on it's own, leave it alone, lol.

You could put some stainless steel horseshoe shaped plates with a cutout in them to fit around your exhaust cutouts to keep it from melting...would look cool + save your bumper..just an idea
