Lost on exhaust...
I'm looking for a new exhaust system for my '99 GT. I want something that sounds louder/better than stock, but not too loud to be a DD. I'd love to keep with an all stainless steel setup too... it seems like anything else would be a step backward from stock. I don't have a lot of money for the upgrade, ideally under $500.

If you just want a catback and want something loud and with tone and great quality theres nothing better than Borla or Bassani. You get what you pay for.

Then again, exhaust is allllllll about personal preferences.

drive around and go to mustang club meets. When you hear the one you like best, ask the owner what it is and get that one. Otherwise you're asking for opinions from people who have different sensibilities and likes/dislikes.
The system you linked is a killer sounding system but still pretty mellow. It's not loud by any stretch and interior noise is minimal. Bassani should be on the top of your list if quality is a concern to you. they make wonderful products that I'd recommend to most anyone.

I have always liked magnaflow because I like the mellow sound and quality....I'm not big into not being able to hear what the person next to me is saying because of my exhaust.....Plus I don't need everyone in the freaking world to know when I'm coming down the street. That's just me though....everyone is different

I think this is definitely my best bet. One good thing about living in Detroit... plenty of Mustang clubs. I'm only about 5 minutes from Alternative Auto and CDC, I could prolly go up there and check out some of their 'stangs.

Don't get me wrong I LOVE my SLP and you can't beat them for the quality/price if you're going for something loud.
With SLP catbacks you REALLY need cats or LT's for them to sound good IMO.

ALso if it was me i wouldnt spend 500bucks for just a catback its a total waste of money, do you really need stainless steel? are you gonna keep your car forever? save the money and get something not stainless or cheaper for crying out loud. I have i think just over $300 with off-road h-pipe and catback.
you ca do more mods with the left over money.

Sorry for digging this back up, but just a quick question. Anyone have the SSS catback? It sounds too good to be true... a full stainless system for $379?
I found this clip at Stage 3: http://www.eaglewheels.com/sound/adrenaline2.wma
That's the SSS system. My only concern is that bubbly/popping noise in the beginning of the clip. Is that the mufflers causing that?
