Just wondering which Corvettes I could hang with and which ones would smoke me (stock Mach 1, and talking about stock Vettes). I have a good respect for them as I know atleast the new ones anyway are very fast. Always admired the Vettes. Just dont know much about them :bash:

Any of the Z06s would smoke you. Any ZR1 would smoke you if it wasnt the crappy ones. The 05+ vettes would smoke you. You have a chance against the c5s and older models.

What's the quarter mile and 0-60 on a regular c6? I know it's faster than my Mach, but aren't they actually fairly slow like 0-30 or something because they are geared high? I know in the Z06 1st gear does atleast 60

Not sure if this has the 1/4 mile time, but here are some c6 facts http://www.corvettemuseum.com/specs/2005/specs.shtml
I think stock c5 vette's run in the low 13's, which if your a good driver you can pull a 13.1-13.3 in your stock mach.....so with a few mods you can whip a stock c5. Now if they start modding look out! |

Yeah, but the way the vette's are designed, geared and all of that doesn't make them that great of a drag car......the aerodynamics of the vette don't really help them until high speeds. Also, they weigh like 3,100-3,200lbs, which is pretty light compared to our 3,400-3,500lbs. I went on a couple of vette forums to check out what stock times the c5's were running and it was low 13's with a couple of high 12's....which you can do also with some DR's and good driving.
I'll bet if you were to race a c5 vette (stock vs stock) from a stop it would be a driver race all the way until 80-90mph and then you'll see his rear lights. |

My friend has a 97 c5 with just intake and catback and he can take my friend's 04 cobra and he has intake catback and mgw short throw..so good luck beating a stock c5..some say it's a factory freak idk.

this is also from like 40 rolls..not going to a drag strip and doing the 1/4 mile..dunno maybe you would have a chance from a dead stop. until about 100+ and then your done for.

Throw on a good 50 shot and youll never see the rearend of that C5......... Even better you can run a 100 shot and go play with bolt on 03 cobras.

I know he was a pretty ****ty shifter back then before he got his Short throw..but the c5 beat more than just the driver..

mach1 is a $29,290 car... take a mach1 and drop the difference of $$$ in and ya'll destroy any corvette... |

well he was talking about stock vette's and I'm just showing him 2 cars with exact same mods..I see the cobra barely hanging probally could of won until top speed if he was a better driver at the time..and then looking at a mach 1 with catback/intake like the cobra/c5 vette and I don't see it winning..don't gimme this "1 out of 10" bs I know most of the time cobra's spank on vette's unless there z06's I'm just saying I don't see a mach 1 beating that vette right there..

no doubt I would take a 03-04 cobra over a c5 vette..but I would have to take a z06 over both =).
